To be ditzy is usually used for girls who are airheaded, or are extremely airheaded.

To be an airhead means to be lacking in the most common knowledge that is assumed that everyone knows. Also, extreme stupidity.

It is hard to define this word, since it is a slang and colloquial expression. Perhaps others can add to what I have said.

I don't know if it is official. But I use this word to describe someone who is flakey, forgetful, fun, bubbly. It isn't a nasty word though.
