I pray about it. That is what God tells us to do in the BIble, he tells us to cast our burdens on him for he cares for us and that is true.

Some great responses so far!
1) Keeping the attention in the Now moment (Roxrcat mentioned)
means to train the mind out of the habit of wandering back to the
past, & [especially in the case of fear] to train the mind to stop
conjuring up possible futures which may never actually
materialize but can go on & on, building up worry[fear] & anxiety[fear] out of thin air.
All this mental manufacturing of images has stressful effects in the body just as if the imagined event really happened. Muscles tense up & don't relax, glucocorticoids are released by the brain, even adrenaline is released into the blood & the body gets worn out by being repeatedly called on alert without the opportunity to rejuvinate.
The POWER of NOW by Eckart Tolle talks about the value of living in the Now moment & how we can learn to relax the body & the mind once we realize what is going on! In order to live in the Now moment, we first must learn to....
2)Watch the mind. Know what you are thinking & feeling every moment. It's not hard once you get used to it (although at first people are often surprised or disheartened - that passes) but the alternative is to live an existance of being pushed around by things we don't see coming [many of them fears] and to not really understand what we are doing or why we are doing it. Watch the mind, whatever comes into it look at it. Denial is condemning ourself to much worse than anything we will find by looking directly. Denial is the only way that fear can control us - it is the psychological version of running away. Watch everything in your mind & then you can choose what you wish to act on & what you wish to discard.
3)See how temporary the object of fear really is. Most fears are about things that either never happen (1 above) or that if they did happen, last but a moment (hypodermic needle) Even the dying process has a beginning & an end. NONE OF IT LASTS. Look at the fear! See how fear magnifies the imagined pain & unpleasantness - as if it will last an eternity. See how this is an exagerated mind that distorts what really may or may not happen, making it seem bigger & more important. When you look directly, the unrealistic pall fear casts will show itself to be a fraud
4)Take practical steps. You did not give specifics about what you were afraid of. There are practical steps that can be taken to prepare for most situations. (even death) In the process of taking the steps, you will learn more about the thing you are afraid of
& it will not look so scary afterwards.
All humans are afraid of something at some point in their lives.
It's not fear but rather our response to it that makes all the difference.
Good Luck!
;-)

I tried to manage my fears by putting myself in a place where I would fear no more. But I didn't quite make it.
My greatest fear was always myself. I feared what I was capable of doing to myself and to others. I've hurt too many people and I've taken it out on myself every time, but it doesn't matter anymore.

I have fear only with human being. I dint fear for death (It is just an end of an episode-not of the story),animals etc. Because people change time to time. The other things on this earth are linked with nature/almighty ..Only the human being are disconnected .
As I fear only with human being I avoid deep relations with others. One can not become an enemy with out becoming your friend.

I manage fear by living in the now. One moment at a time.
My greatest fear is having other people laugh at - not with - me. Ridicule is my greatest fear.
So, I try to no be ridiculous.

I talk to people about it ask God to be by my side and I even confront fear in the face. Sometimes I ask my self what can do about how I am feeling and how to handle it? Take it in stride cause even fear of dieing as exp you can not change it cause it's gonna happen soon or later to all of us... Good question!:o)

Stare it straight in the eye. In the end, it's the things you don't see, or the things dancing in your peripheral vision, that can make you afraid.
But once you drag it - whatever it is - into the harsh light of day, you realize that there is nothing to be afraid of.
This is true of all things - death included. You stare death in the eye, understand what it means, at its core, and realize that there is nothing to fear in it.

Me? Fear? I don't fear anything or anyone. So I suppose i manage it by not allowing it to exist.
