I want to study Astro Physics at university and hopefully have a career in that field. However, I have not been given the option of studying it at A-Level. Does this mean that it will stop me entering a good university because I will not have any qualifications in Astro Physics when I apply?

I am already taking Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A-Level but Astro-Physics wont be taught as part of the course, instead it is medical physics, which I have little interest in.

dont worry if what you say is correct then everyone is in the same boat, but from personal experiance studying maths and physics is the maximum you would be expected to have. also there is a module in A2 physics called cosmology which is like astrophysics really, its a really great module to study and once you get your head around some of the mind bending theories it really isnt that tough either. it would be good if your school can teach it, but make sure your physics teacher knows it, or has at least taught it before, its no joke trying to learn it on your own. but dont worry even if you dont do that module the university wont mind, you will probably go over it all in the first term anyway. P.S you may be better off to get a Bsc in Physics first, then specialise when/if you do a Masters, then you will be sure you wnat to do it. anyway good luck, oh and physics is the best A level ever!!!

No college in the UK offers Astro Physics. You go to unviersity to specialise in that area - in the same way you don't study Medicine at college but you do at uni.

Your best of getting excellent grades at Maths and Physics and Chemistry at A Level which will help you no end when applying at universities.

Good luck!

Maths, Physics & Chemistry are the way into further studies.
I might swop Chemistry for Thermodynamics but I don't think this is a school subject.
If this is so give special attention to Physics.
Magnatism for me is the future way to go when some clever person opens the door. I believe it to be the power unit that will progess mankind on earth as well as space.
Good luck.

The best thing to do is go to a University or go online and see the A levels required for the course and participate in them rather than worry.

so long as you have maths, physics and possibly chemistry, you should be fine getting on the course. i dont think many places offer it as an a-level anyway
