No, obscenity has not reached that level yet since cultural roots in India are very strong. However, the revolution in communication media and mass entertainment systems, like the cinema, TV and printed matter, assisted by faster means of transport, are affecting our culture gradually, which is really a matter of concern.
Obscenity is related with cutural backwardness. When humans were not civilised, they used to remain nude and their sexual relations were not different from animals. With the progress of civilisation, covering of body became a requirement and sexual relations were limited between spouses who were not borne of the same parents. Thus we have reached today's status.
However, having reached the peak of civilisation, people in some western countries are showing a trend of reversal to living habits of primitive days. Should we blindly ape others or try to preserve our culture?

More than obscenity, I hate the double standards maintained by the authorities. On one hand they ban airing of films with adult content & on the other hand they let go of television programs/soap operas which blatantly feature adultery & other social evils.Even the censor board is biased, only some small films are checked, big banners get away with everything.

No obscenity in INDIA.
India has got its traditions , cultures and mutual respect for elders that helps India being having clean society and not many movies in India are obscene as in other western countries.

Yes,in terms of cinema or in films there is obscenity,and now the same is being shown openly on TV,all this is affecting the character of the youth,who in turn are trying to surpass each other.It is very poor state of affairs.

What is obscene?
Those people who always tried to cover up or hide,has created lot of expectation & Hype and it has spoiled everyone.
It is like American do SEX ,but Indians will always think about SEX.
The small thing will become nothing,if people are exposed to it frequently and at some point of time you will not mind it at all.
