it so p***** me off to finally realize that you just can't enjoy yourself without it. hobbies, pets, vacation, parties, trips, meeting new people, college, you name it

why does the quality of life depend on it

what bothers me is that everyone who works hard should have a decent and dignified life

please don't write about rich people being unhappy. at least they are unhappy in a dignified way and with style.

thanks.

Where is the question please?
Money is not everything but it means basically almost everything!
Unfortunately what you said is true you can't really enjoy much in life without it! Some people say best things in life are free. I seriously doubt it for even love might be free philosophically but you still need money to get by with your loved one! So where are the free things! Nowhere unfortunately! Money as well is the root of most evil. This is so because there is alot of push and pull for money between people. Hence we can't do without it altough we might not like it ideally!?

You my friend have hit the nail on the head. I am not one that loves money for money but for what it can do. Poor people dont have money for the little extras in life that make life fun to live. Like taking trips not matter where to. I for one am already dreading Christmas, not that I dont love the season because I really do. But when you are living on a fixed income it really sucks when your grandkids are wanting something special for Christmas and you arent able to get it for them.
Yes I know presents arent the reason for the season but it makes me feel like crap none the less. So I do sympathize with you.

It is unfortunate that is the way it is. People that make the money from the things that you want to do simply don't want to sacrifice their life styles once established into a certain quality of life it is hard to lose it.

well the majority said so and i think it's a fact....

but there ARE some people out there who's not rich but still enjoys his/her life... i mean in general money is everything but in the end you can't enjoy money if you can't find THE right way to surly enjoy it...

like my friends says that don't work too much because it'll ruined our friendship in the end...

and honestly i think they've got a point there....

Hi,
There was a favorite quote I heard some where: I prefer to sit in my limousine and think about my sorrows but to walk and think about them!

That is true, unfortunate but true and it's the rule of jungle. We may say we are civilized but still the power rules and money is the CIVILIZED FORM OF POWER

when you focus on material wealth these things happen, those who give equal importance for family, career, personal objectives never face any problems. Giving undue importance for any one of the above objectives leads to undignified and artificial life.

i suppose you grew up as a poor child?
and you talk about dignity...Has Paris Hilton dignity? She's rich, damn rich but i think not...But she's happy with her life.
Money buys material things...not love...If your happiness depends on material things and not on love etc then its a pity for you...Parents who spit blood to earn money for their children(and earn it in a legal way)have dignified life..Prostitudes do not have dignified life(they dont pay taxes :P)..Dignity depends on your qualities....!and i dont think that money brings dignity.. :)

Read the novel - Atlas Shrugged. Author is Ayn Rand. There is one character - Francisco. Read his views on money.

It is worth spending your time reading it.

What is money? Why money? Why it is important for people. and so on....
