The onlhy bowler in the history of test cricket to take 19 wickets in a match was Mr. James Charles Laker of England. He took 19 wickets in the 4th Test of Ashes Series of 1956 played at Old Trafford, Manchester from 26th to 341st July 1956. He took 9 wickets in 16.4 overs for 37 runs in first innnings and 10 wickets in 51.2 overs for 53 runs

That was the great Jim Laker in the first innings of the match againts the aussies he finished with figures of 9-37 and in the second innings he took all 10 wickets for 53 runs leaving him with match figures of 19-90.
