The Dalai Lama believes in and encourages human growth and peace through developing compassion, sees all humans including himself as completely equal and is non-judgemental, and considers all violent death a tragedy for both the one who dies and the one who kills.

Osama Bin Laden encourages the use of violence to achieve his own ends, believes some people (including himself) are superior to others, and considers the violent death of his opponents and their innocent children a victory and cause for celebration.

The Dalai Lama would willingly meet with Bin Laden and listen to him and perhaps try to suggest a more peaceful way of achieving his aims (or even modifying them), but I doubt that Bin Laden would have any interest in talking to this man of peace and would probably wish him dead, as he is in Bin Laden's eyes an "infidel".

EDIT: I should also add that Osama Bin Laden does not represent the vast majority of Muslim people, who like those of all great religions believe in peace and the power of their God to change things for the better for those who have faith. I am not a Muslim but that is what my friends of that faith tell me.

Buddhism believes in sucessive lives, during which you are increasingly purified if you do good, or lose points if you do bad. This is called Karma. The only way to achieve Nirvana is through complete enlightenment.

Bin Laden's bastardized form of Islam preaches that killing infidels get you to paradise, where you can bang 72 virgins for all eternity.

It's like asking what's the difference between Adolf Hitler and Albert Schweitzer.
