as the others state, probably best to leave it alone but if you must, you MAY be able to set up a dual boot where you choose the OS upon booting. I know it works with XP and 98 but they are both 32 bit OS's With vista being 64 bit, it may not work. My experience with Microsoft goes back to DOS and I can say this, don't bother loading any Microsoft OS for the first year. Let the rest learn of the bugs.

You don't. Also all current downloads of Vista are time limited, which means that one day they will just stop working. Do not play with Vista yet unless you really know what you are doing.

If i was u, i would do it this way: -
I would install vista on a different partition. e.g if xp is on c:/ then i would install vista on d:/ so that i can have both the operating systems. Then wen u switch on ur pc, it asks u which operating system u wanna use.
Simple!

There may not be a way to revert to XP.
Vista is still not final. What just came out is a pre-release version.
Unless you're an advanced user, I'd wait. Also, don't be in too much of a hurry to install the first release of ANY software.
