No, I dont think we will. Mainly cause of Afghanistan and Iraq at the moment. I dont think we will go the direct route like invasion unless Iran would happen to get its hands on a nuclear weapon or the EU calls for some kind of invasion. I have heard talk of doing something similar to what we did with the USSR's invasion of Afghanistan years ago, which was funding and training troops for a coup. But in my opinion that would be just creating another Osama, since we pretty much created him as well.

I think that the atomic research facilities within Iran will be knocked out. It maybe done by Israeli subs using American made TLAM's but I believe it will be done before the end of the current administration. I do not see anyone putting ground forces into Iran

i wish they would but unfortunatly no we will not be invading iran . the us military is stretched thin as it is and an invasion of iran would severely destablize the entire region . if we get definative proof of a nuclear weapons program it is more likly isreal will bomb the facility than yhe us invading. i see the diplomatic process being attempted for quite some time to come.

No ,Pres Bush is not the military strategist he thought he was .
He lied and made a fiasco out of Iraq ,so to save face in the world,he would wait for Iran to make a mistake .
He needs to get Bin Laden first, after all he was the one responsible for the attacks in New York .

No, I don't. The U.S. military is essentially fully committed in Iraq and Afghanistan. To open a third front at this time, with the other conflicts still raging, would be insane, unless there was no other option (and, of course, there are plenty of other options). A more likely scenario would be Israeli or American air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

No. I think the USA will get someone else to do their dirty work...that means Israel.
Within the next 12 months the IDF will attack specific points in Iran in order to 'stabilise the region'...anyone want to bet me?

yes, the whole israel hezzobla thing was planned so when we went into iran hezzobla wouldn't be able to use its missles against isreal.
the best article it the New Yorker piece.
http://www.newyorker.com/fact/content/articles/060821fa_fact
The Israeli plan, according to the former senior intelligence official, was “the mirror image of what the United States has been planning for Iran.” (The initial U.S. Air Force proposals for an air attack to destroy Iran’s nuclear capacity, which included the option of intense bombing of civilian infrastructure targets inside Iran, have been resisted by the top leadership of the Army, the Navy, and the Marine Corps, according to current and former officials. They argue that the Air Force plan will not work and will inevitably lead, as in the Israeli war with Hezbollah, to the insertion of troops on the ground.)
i also added information below regarding the first half of the plan.
***************************************************************
The Israeli invasion of Lebanon was planned between top Israeli officials and members of the Bush administration. On June 17 and 18, former Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Likud Knesset member Natan Sharansky met with Vice President Dick Cheney at the American Enterprise Institute conference in Beaver Creek, Colorado. There, the impending Israeli invasions of both Gaza and Lebanon were discussed. After receiving Cheney's full backing for the invasion of Gaza and Lebanon, Netanyahu flew back to Israel and participated in a special "Ex-Prime Ministers" meeting, in which he conveyed the Bush administration's support for the carrying out of the "Clean Break" policy -- the trashing of all past Middle East peace accords, including Oslo. Present at the meeting, in addition to Netanyahu, were current Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and former Prime Ministers Ehud Barak and Shimon Peres. Former Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir is very old and suffers from dementia and Ariel Sharon remains in a coma after a series of strokes.
Lebanon and Gaza invasions planned last month in Colorado meetings between Netanyahu, Sharansky, and Cheney.
After the AEI meeting, Sharansky, who has the ear of Bush, met with the Heritage Foundation in Washington and then attended a June 29 seminar at Philadelphia's Main Line Haverford School sponsored by the Middle East Forum led by Daniel Pipes. Sharansky appeared with Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum who this past Thursday was beating the war drums against Syria, Iran, and "Islamo-fascism" in a fiery speech at the National Press Club attended by a cheering section composed of members of the neocon Israel Project, on whose board Santorum serves along with Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss and Virginia GOP Rep. Tom Davis.
Our Washington sources claim that the U.S.-supported invasions of Gaza and Lebanon and the impending attacks on Syria and Iran represent the suspected "event" predicted to take place prior to the November election in the United States and is an attempt to rally the American public around the Bush-Cheney regime during a time of wider war.
