Duncan's racing career was tragically cut short when he crashed into a concrete pole; he was crippled by the accident and spent months in hospital where finally his determination won through and he managed to walk again.

Yes.
He was a very good jockey.
Won the 2000 Guineas on Nicksar.
Rode for W. Nightingall.
Had a few unfortunate disqualifications on a horse called something like Rock Roi.
Lost same race two years running.
Tended to make all the running on stable runners.
