there are a lot of other things that can be used such as a diaphram, which is used with spermicides and there are little if any side effects there is also the pill but that won't protect you from std's and there are some side effects there are a few more but I can't think of it right now.

she could go on the pill, depending on which is prescribed would depend on the side effects. anthing from weight gain, headaches etc etc
She could use a diafram with spermicides....no side effects
you could seek advise from family planning for additional ideas
