It might be your conscience. It might just be you trying to make up an inner voice but... how do we know the true voice inside of us that is talking to you that is actually God's?

It might be when he tells you something that you could not have come up with on your own.

the thing is any gods that talk to you can be either advising you or testing you.

the important thing is how are you going to accept or deny the words that the god or gods talked to you about.

being neutral is very efficient and praying neutrally without panic does help but at time you might need someone's advice or read the scriptures for answers.

before you act to any god or gods advise or testing through acceptance or denial because of the nature of the above, you have to find a quiet moment when you can really meditate and think carefully on the importance of the advice or testing.

chanting helps too while pondering in a quiet place. but for me, sometimes a small crowd also strangely helps to be enlightened but not always.

slowly, you will gain through experience that a god or gods is/are talking to you.

be careful as the god or gods talking to you is a serious thing and you must know what is wrong and what is right before you can accept the advice or really deny the testing by "saying" sorry and please bless the person or persons involved in the god or gods speech.

there is such thing as karma and god or gods do test people.

there is a 2nd and 3rd answer to your question too but it is very complex and i have yet to solve it. but temporarily for me, seeing the chinese doctor or a physciatrist might help.

Excellent question. The inner voice that answers is you of course, but it is also a sign of your own faith in God. Which you should note internally that God is noticing you making up answers for in his name. He is probably happy with this because it shows him your faith. Even though it isn't really him, it shows him where you stand with your faith. If there is a God then you have to know that he would be pleased that you are at least "TRYING" to be living with him in your concience. Then you can imagine his reaction to all this as a good spirit who is also peaceful and probably calm, and get an idea of his reaction to all of the above as it happens. Take care.

Your conscience comes from the Holy Spirit. Sometimes, God talks to you through scriptures from the bible, appearing many times in a day..etc..you might think it's just coincidental..but it's from God..

When there is a definite lack of any voice all together and you begin to listen to the silence... upon realizing that God is not an single entitiy but rather a representation of oneness... unity of everything.

If you have any doubt it's God then it isn't. He's never spoken directly to me so this is an assumption. I also suspect he doesn't verbalize often if ever. Humans being a very visual creature would not visuals be a much more efficient and better means of comunication?

There are some tests that come to mind that can help you determine this:

Does it align with scripture? It has to align with scripture to be from God.

Have you prayed about it? Prayer is how you communicate with God. You can simply ask Him, "is this from you?"

Ask other believers for their counsel. Talk to people who are mature in their faith and who you trust. Run it by them. They know you and they know God, so they may be able to offer you some guidance.

You'll probably get a lot of answers on this on. But on this particular question I believe NO ONE KNOWS what they're talking about: Including me. It's a "God" thing: If He/She/whatever is even there.
