Do you think if you get over a ¼ of a mile you are home free or what? He can follow you to hell and give you a ticket.

he was looking for an excuse to pull you over, I never slow below the speed limit, as other drivers do,or suddenly change lanes , or turn off, I just ignore the jerks until they decide to pull me over or get tired of following me. Were you speeding?

The police were running your plate and looking for outstanding warrents before they pulled you over. It just took awhile to get a response. It happens all the time. no big deal.

What difference does it make how long he followed you.

What's important is that you were speeding and he timed you.

Of course. There's no time or distance limit before you can pull someone over.

sometimes it takes time to run a plate.
yes they can follow you because you did something wrong.
pay the ticket and get on with more important things.

remember the policeman is your friend,
not your enemy.
