i am an englishman --- educated but not posh and to me the best accent of all is when my brazilian fiance speaks in english --- WOW haha --- very different voice to her native portugese talk --- i think this is true in many cases where people talk a "learned language " may be that they just try harder to be understood correctly --- not just chat

but i LOVE IT

best wishes to all that try a new language

this world needs better communication for all people

regards

I like British, Irish, Italian and French accents. I also like hearing people from Boston, Chicago and New York talk (they sound tough). I am from California. I hate my voice because I think I sound like my nose is stuffed. But when I hear one I feel right at home. It is easy to understand and very clear. Also, having grown up in a Hispanic neighborhood, I was always considered an outsider. And now I live in Southern Illinois where people talk with semi-southern accents. They say "yuns" instead of "You guys" or "you all." They also say "how much you like" instead of "how much do you have left over." OHHHHH, I cannot stand it! I mean, we are not in the south but it feels like every man here sounds like Jeff Foxworthy and every female sounds like Reba McEntire. Really. My accent is referred to as a valley girl accent around here. Funny thing is, I have never even lived in a valley or near a valley. And my accent is not from tv watching, either. I also "hang onto" my words. I have tried not to. But it is something that I would have to concentrate on not doing. well, I don't have time for that. So, I just talk in the voice I have had since I began and if people don't like it....too bad so sad.

This is a brilliant question. I love listening to the way people speak. I'm from Somerset, west country UK and people often take the rise out of our accents, same as if you're from Birmingham, places in Wales or the deep south of the USA.

I love an english accent of the kind Kiera Knightly has. I think it is as soft as silk and sweet as chocolate. Beauty to the ears. I have a South African accent.

Love Scottish accent.
I am from Southern Ireland, so it is not like mine.
It is a little bit like the Northern Ireland accent, but a million times sweeter.
