The US was created out of violent acts against others when the colonists' families were not in the least at risk from the British soldiers. The trend has not changed. We glorify war and violence then wonder why our crime rates are so high.

Basically Americans love killing because it is fun, Muslims just kill because that is what they are taught to do.
White Americans see themselves as an endangered minority, threatened by foreigners because their ancestors have carved out the greatest nation on earth from nothing in a very short time.
They cannot understand why lazy foreigners living in a style unchanged for 1000 years do not admire the American way and try to emulate it.
White Americans, and increasingly black, hispanic etc Americans are either Christian Fundemantalists, as in apply Christian core values without collective worship, or Christian Sect members, Catholic, Protestant, Mormon, whereby the Christian core values have morphed into a Islamic/Jewish organised prayer, dedicated building (Church) for prayer, organised clergy heirarchy which Jesus himself never advocated in his recorded activities in the Bible. The use of the word Church for the Building and the members of the religion blurs this distinction very conveniently for the well paid clergy.
Given that Americans are indoctrinated that all men are equal, you should help others, democracy is good, men and Women are equal, and that the world should live in peace and harmony and if they have to send a carrier battlegroup or two and the tanks in to achieve this then that is what they must do, and most Americans believe it is good to send their youth to fight and die for these American ideals it is not surprising that America and Islam are incompatible.
Islam believes that Muslims are above all other people, women rate below men, (not sure if they rank above cattle and sheep or not) and that the whole world should be converted to ISLAM, so really as Western, American, British law is so biased to Christian
beleifs the conflict is institutionalised.
Education is needed here. Horror was expressed when prince thicko wore a swastica, but Hitlers evil plans fell well short of Islam so, what is it to be Western Muslims, Religion or Law.
If it is religion, wear the Arab gear like nazis wear the Swastica and show your support for the 9/11 bombers.
If not jeans and baseball cap.
Dont know about the Americans but I would certainly enjoy killing anyone Arrogant enough to wear Islam gear on Monday, the 9/11
anniversary.

The question of whether to get involved or not is a key one.
During World War II the Americans got alot of criticism for not getting involved early enough. It is possible that if they got involved earlier then the war would have ended quicker and out of the millions who died - some of them may have lived.
After World War II, The League of Nations was disolved and the UN was born. The idea was no nation should be attacked, and dictators hell bent on killing their own people should be stopped.
The issue here is, two many countries have dictators who kill their own people, or countries who are at war with each other. Now America gets involved with every conflict to try and resolve them. The problem we are seeing is that just because they get involved, it doesn't mean the problem will get resolved, it may even cause more issues.
The the question - why do Americans always get involved, I believe the answer is - they do so because they believe they can help out.
The problem is - we are now seeing that in alot of cases it makes the situation alot worse.

America is currently the world's most powerful country.
Look back at all powerful countries/empires/societies and they've ALL acted in the same way.
Used to be Britain, nearly was Germany/Japan, before that France and Russia, go back a bit further Ottoman Turkey, remember the conquistadores,Spain and Portugal, the Arab Muslim empire, China too, Ghengis Khan's Mongols, the Aztecs and Incas were no exception, empires in Africa (they used to capture people from other tribes and sell them to Europeans and Arabs as slaves), Vikings, Romans, Alexander the Great's Greeks, Persians, Babylonians, Assyrians, Egyptians...even lesser nations in their own region, such as Malays, Danes, Swedes, Serbs, Rwandans, Pathans, Thais, Burmese...
Give a race or nation power and they'll maximise it, hang on to it at all costs and think they're better than anyone else and deserve top dog status. Human nature. Fallen human nature - which means, no matter how "Christian" America claims to be, they play the same power game as anyone else would in their shoes.
All nations put their own self-interest first when it comes to foreign policy - openly and unashamedly. That's why I believe supra-national organisations like the UN, EU and ASEAN are a good way forward. But Americans think these are agents of the antichrist!

It's a Whole United States out there....on the MAP. Do you have any particular Americans you would like to address that question?
What Country are you emailing from??? because if you were born here in the United States of America that makes you an American. Are you one that's NOT INTENT on killing?
If you feel that you know who is responsible why don't you write them and ask your question?

After World War 2 the U.S. took on the self appointed role as the worlds policeman. The problems started when they as you said started involving themselves in countries who had different ideals than them. I am not saying this is always wrong but sometimes if they served the interests of the country they are involving themselves with rather than their own they may find they are less disliked across the world. Mind you under the current government Britain is trying to be the same.

I feel your thinking is being limited. How can you ask this question about America and fail to see the numerous samples throughout world history. You have an endless supply of examples of people killing other people because they didn't see things the way they wanted them to see. I mean hell there were two world wars brought on by cultures that sought the complete dominance and obliteration of peoples. Are you suggesting the world would have been a better place if Americans sat back said "oh well...it has nothing to do with me" and ate their apple pies????

a somewhat double edged question that has no one answer -- even if it did it will be double-edged like a Russian roulette. no, all Americans do not like to "kill". stop --there. as to why they do go into other nation's land -- it is called Geo-politics -- mainly to defend their national interests -- like freedom, commerce, their values of life -- liberty, etc. and when they are "attacked" -- they just respond. This is 1 p.cent of the explanation and for the rest you have to take university courses or let life teach you -- the many whys.

The voice of reason!
It's the "culture" of the beast, I'm afraid.
US Americans get the message from early on that conflict can be successfully solved by violence, and only by violence.
Reasoning with people is something only women and other weak people do, and name one American film/TV show where that is not so.
Of course they need sorting out, but who will do it? Unless somebody knows they have a problem, nothing can help them.

i feel part of the problem is america's "age".it is still a comparitevly young nation in terms of history and is effectivly a young child with lots of power.
im english and aware of my countries historical actions both good and bad.
also what is an american, there are so many different races making up this young country it must cause some identity problems?
im not anti american, probaly like a lot of people i see the stereotype swaggering gung ho version often portrayed on tv and in films, and judge them on that.however i have been stateside and met the ordinary man in the street and they seem ok to me.
just like the muslim tour guide in tunisia, got on fine with him to.

I think that the politicians are egotistical and will do anything to get their votes. I'm pretty pissed about the whole facade. I don't know why I even bother voting. :( I think that it's disgusting how people are getting killed when we need help in our own country so much. Bush didn't even care about Hurricane Katrina. I'm glad that Oprah did though. She has more money than him, thank the lord!
