Yes this is normal ! i buy & sell cars and have had log book`s back the same week , so not to worry , the new system in place is very good . you can do a h.p.i check for the cars history .

Hiya
DVLC say it can take 4 to 6 weeks but you can sell it without the V5 (Log book) just pass it on to the new owners
Hope this helps John

. My advice is get the car for yourself and bugger the girlfriend .If you have the reg no get a pnc check done on it for your own piece of advice if still unsure ask the D.V.L.A .And then go out and buy the girl friend a push bike or bus pass.GOOD LUCK WITH THE CAR AND THE GIRLFRIEND

Until you see a logbook and checked that all of the information tallies with the car... DO NOT BUY IT!!

NO LOGBOOK.. NO PURCHASE!!

You're a fool if you buy a car without a logbook V5.

mine took about two weeks to arrive! do a vehicle check first if this will settle your mind.
