No doubt, it's an ironclad *****. I thought my legs were gonna come off of my body by the time that little nature walk was over. I was convinced that not only did the DI'S hate us, but now God did too, for putting that @#*#@ hill on a Marine base! I bitched (internally mind you) about it then, but if I ever had to hump it into combat, the conditioning would have been really IMPORTANT. The hilly terrain at Camp Pendelton made phase 2 a ***** overall. The PI Marines call us MCRD San Diego boys "Hollywood Marines", but at least the PI is flat. Still , we did'nt have sand fleas, and MCRD SD is a nicer site, and close to the real world.
An even further bonus is that we got to qualify at Edison, the Promised Land of Marine marksmanship.

It's only a hill that you if you stick our arm straight out from your chest you would be touching the side. Make sure you lean forward, of not the weight of your Alice pack will send you rolling backward. The rest is just good ole Marine Corps training. Don't forget, many have come before and so can you.

Its impossible to forget Mt. MF for any Marine. I thought God and my parents were plotting on me. I swore i had out of body moments. On top of that, I also had to haul mine & a injured buddy's full alice pack. ***** Ridge wasn't as mean as MF. I'm glad I took that little stroll. SEMPER FI, baby!!
