I've always been curious as to why people would choose a religon such as satanism when evil has no good intentions, even to those that serve evil.

As an atheist, I can tell you that atheism and satanism are not at all related. Satanism has more in common with other religions than it does a belief in no religion.

Why would an atheist want to believe in yet another stupid idea inspired by the Bible?

But, in some sense I can understand WHY people would worship Satan. God either doesn't have the power or the will to eliminate Him, so in a way that makes Him more powerful than God. That's IF you believe in any of that nonsense, and no atheist would.

Read up on it. It has nothing to do with evil. Its enlightenment. Well worth the stigma given by society. Satanists beliefs are far superior to christian beliefs. Less judgemental. By the way, i'm not a satanist or a christian. I'm agnostic and unbiased.

When I left Wicca for the "left hand path", looking back I realize I was just an angry young man.

Eventually I got tired of trying to convince myself that it was something real, and not just a religion for nuts, and I gave it up.

Generally, satanists don't worship satan. They're pretty much atheists who put themselves first. You can read more here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satanism
