if you're dropping a bomb, it keeps the fall-out contained

if it's just a pee, why bother unless you're exposed to an unshaded window in the next room.

Because everywhere else you are in private on the toilet, you are just continuing to keep the habit at home. Since it is a habit, you won't forget when a guest comes over and leave the door open by mistake. Perhaps that was the habit in the home where you grew up.

lol.. I do the same thing sometimes. But of couse I don't like the fact that my 2 dogs and 2 cats think it is necessary to either be in the bathroom with me or set at the door and watch me. I do however wish my husband would shut the door sometimes. I'm guessing its because you have been used to closing it for so long that you just do it out of habit. You will eventually break your habit of it, just in time for a roommate.

It's manners to do so-- when u were brought up with being told to shut the door when on the toilet. It's kinda stuck. Not a lot of people have that so think yourself lucky!!

It's a good habit to keep, otherwise you get into the habit of not closing the door and by the time you are 70 you will have forgotten that you have to close the door, besides it keeps the smell in room where it should be! (Are you just a tidy person? do you put the seat down too?!)

well i guess you havent lived on you own all you life, so it probably a habit you gained while living with others and not it just would not seem quite right to use the toilet with the door open

HA! Funny. Seriously though, it's good practice. One day maybe you'll live with someone else. Who wants to hear/smell/see their guy on the toilet cutting them loose?--besides me that is. :)

And I bet you got more answers to this question than you thought you would.
