I suppose it is because they find the question inane or insulting. In the case of the former, I suppose that some people simply do not have anything else better to do, or just want to lash out at people in a system wherein their identities remain anonymous (to a certain extent). As for the latter, I do not agree with using the answering system to post one's opinions about whether or not a question is in "good taste;" I much prefer simply reporting the question as Abuse, especially when it has something to do with racial or religious prejudice.

No sh!t, you said that twice, instead of just asking the question.
Its "intoleraNt", by the way. Learn to operate the spell checker before you criticize the stupids.

The same reason that kings always used to chop the heads off of messengers who brought them bad news. It's an easy response that requires no thought. Not to mention, people tend to slip into their little intarweb-alter-egos and write things they'd never dream of saying to someone in person.

That's usually the level 1 & 2 people.
Once they get reported and realize they are not here to post cute rhetoric, they will get with the program.

A) Some people are just jerks--it's a simple as that. They have nothing intelligent or worthwhile to contribute to a discussion.
B) Honestly, some questions are just really stupid, complete nonsense, unintelligible because spelling/grammar/punctuation is totally lacking, or worse.

Because they don't have stuff themselves to answer with. That's why they criticize and pass their times.

same reason they do it ( or want to do it but can't hide) everywhere else. You might try experimenting with how you phrase your questions (perhaps you have).Try not to let them ruin your whole day.
