it angers me that the problems of the world can all basically be traced back to mediocrity. look at this chart.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iq#Practical_validity
ahhh! i just clench my teeth when i think about it! think of all the money wasted on stupid kids in public school (which is way too easy for us to take our nation seriously.. "the foundation of every state is the education of its youth") WHO DON'T WANT TO ACHIEVE.. and can't... think of all of the rapists who can't control their primal urges. think of all of the problems that stupidity has caused us over thousands of years....i'm generally very nice and tolerant and accepting and then i just think about how ideal the world would be..

am i just an elitist? or do the facts justify my vexation?

more intelligent people are more likely to:
not live off of the government, ie, they're not vermins
be rationalists (refuse to accept hereditary prejudices)
take care of their bodies, be healthier, esp. in term of prevention (WOULD AIDS EXIST IN HUMANS?)
maintain themselves in public, be respectful towards others, maintain camaraderie of society
be more tolerant of others
CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY
GET A JOB
donate volunteer hours, work for a better cause
raise their children better
have a better understanding of the world (how would the world be if we were more in tune w/ one another?)

LESS LIKELEY TO:
commit crimes
become inflicted with disease (thus, pass on disease)
have 10 ffkkin kids they cant afford; overbreed (thus, overpopulate the earth)
need public funding (extremely rare that anyone with an IQ over 125 receives welfare, ie, live off of others in society)...

the list goes on forever.. think about every problem in the word. name any problem.

punctuation/grammar comments: the character space is limited. if you can't counterpart my argument, don't make a petty remark about something so horribly unrelated.

intelligent quotient tests are highly advanced. my brother for example, maintains all of the respectable traits of a genius but probably couldn't name the capital of ghana or converse eloquently with others but he could take my toaster over apart and fix my hair dryer in under 10 minutes. his iq? 163. my sister, who is an accomplished guitarist, has an IQ of 148... the vaerage iq of an artist? around 130. same with engineers.

thus, iq's are highly advanced and catch all traits of "genius".. there are 24 different kinds i believe. i think theres a cooking genius.. it varies. nevertheless, the smarter you get the more valuble you are to society, chiefly. statesmen and scientist and visionary philosophers and accomplished writers all have one thing in common.

if you're angry about you're own IQ, don't take it out on others who have taken the time to rationally reflect on the consideration (with supplementing facts) that maybe their less intelligent counterparts might not be as valuble to society, and might in fact be verminous. just a thought. if your intelligence (and contrasting opinion) can't suffice, then the intended discussion is complete.

p.s., nobody is born with knowledge; humans have to acquire knowledge as they venture through life. all knowledge must be attained to be known in the first place, otherwise it wouldn't be known, and/or knowledge. therefore, nobody who is knowledgable could ever logically be considered unworthy of thair own fruit. any such attempt would be a pathetic act of rancor.

Think of all the people who don't use proper punctuation and capitalization in their outrageous bids to make themselves look intelligent, yet fail miserably.

OH, I am so sorry that you are disgusted with people who have no choice, that you have never had any relatives born with disabilities like water on the brain and autism, never had a family member have an accident that rendered them unable to take care or think for themselves, or have an acquaintance have an aneurysm or tumor removed. Or, been a young teen age boy who lives his life in a wheel chair in a nursing home, because his father beat him so badly.

You probably had the highest grades in all of your classes, you probably didn't even notice the people who were so poor that they were thinking about where there next meal was coming from, they were so hungry that they couldn't concentrate on learning.

Some of these problems lead to uneducated adults that don't know enough to make sure that their children do better than they did so that the cycle would stop.

You can't blame societies problems on that crap.

You should try getting out of your cob webbed little corner of the universe and experience life.

JEEZ

Your not an Elitist, you are ate up with the dummy #$#

You and me both! I am SO glad I tested above 125 for IQ. I'd hate to be banished from the human race. I think we should send everyone with a sub-125 IQ to a deserted island and let them either colonize themselves (thus, disproving the idea that IQ has social value, because it takes some semblance of intelligence to create order and hierarchy), or let them die out (proving once and for all that IQ is *the* definitive mark by which all men are approved or disapproved).

Puh-LEASE! IQ is just a number. It might show how a person may not be able to solve differential equations, but it doesn't say anything about a person's social worth.

P.S. Touché, Devious!

People are brilliant in different ways. I'm more visually intelligent than anything else, and therefore, I am an artist. But there were always one or two boys in highschool who could put a car engine together blindfolded and knew the names and functions of all the parts. I always marvelled at their ability, although I have no particular fondness for cars. These same boys weren't terribly eloquent, but they were brilliant in their way.

I would suggest reading a book called 'The Wind Singer' by William Nicholson. In this book , there is a city in which all of the residents are required to take a test every so often which is similar to an SAT. Depending on their score, the citizens are placed in either the slums or the high-end. Later in the story, when the father is in a 'reformation' center for rebelling against the test, he engages in conversation with some of the other inmates. He discovers that they have all failed the test, but each of them is a genius at something - one of them, a tailor, knows how to identify any kind of fabric by touch, and another loves weather and can name all types of cloud formations. One of them, a janitor, seems to have no talent at all, but loves dipping biscuits in tea at lunchtime. He turns out to be a brilliant baker who can make a biscuit with just the right texture to be dipped in tea.

All in all, people are idiots, but given the right opportunities they could be brilliant, or maybe they already are. IQ's shouldn't be judged in numbers. In my experience, the human race is too vastly complex to be squeezed into the limitations of a few tiny tests. The human spirit will continue to defy any means by which we seek to explain and catalogue it.

I have an average IQ and if you wish to be disgusted at me because of then it shows how shallow you are.
I do not judge a person, and I wouldn't be so shallow to neglect what really matters...

what is within the soul. It doesn't require intelligence to be nice, and loving.
It only requires a heart, the mind is how we decide to react and behave with the heart.
I can separate the mind to the heart, and it is usually the heart I look into to create the image I see. I then take notice of the mind, which is only part of the whole

Have a good day, God Bless you xxx

its so sad that you think your better than other people... nothing good can come from that. You may understand a stupid iq test but you obviously dont understand society , and people... do you know how hard it is to study for hours, and still fail, to repeat a grade cuz you dont understand?? just because everything was handed to you doesnt mean everyone else is as spoiled as you... you get so caught up in your iq you may never learn to love others... im so sorry you've lived your life being disgusted by others

It always amuses me how the people aggrandizing themselves the loudest always seem to come across as the most ignorant.

It's a shame that all of your rather undeserved confidence and slightly manic energy is being wasted proving yourself a fool rather than pursuing what you obviously have a desperate need for... education.

Worry less about the intellectual shortcomings of others and worry more about the one silly twit whose fate you can actually control. In other (smaller) words... fix yourself before you become vexed by your mediocre brethren.

An IQ test really means nothing you know. All it says is that you are good at taking that particular test. The majority of the population are all as smart as everyone else (for the most part) with about 2% on either side (really dumb and genius). Most of us are right there in the middle.

The IQ tests I've taken say im around 120-140 I forget where exactly and I'm a lazy bastard who wants nothing out of life. I'm not sure if that's average or not, but if it's above average then those statistics have lost all value to me.

I don't mean to demean you at all, but it seems like you are making a lot of judgments. I agree with you that our government is ignorant and at sometimes, may even appear corrupt.
When we are raised in a dysfunctional family, we sometimes lack skills to handle life in a positive way. That is when addictions come in and haunt you, and thus, poverty takes way, cuz they are spending all their money on dope, or gamblng.
We have to keep in mind that there is a god of this world called Satan. While we cannot hold him accountable for everything in our lives, he is the master of destruction and death. He comes to kill steal and destroy. I hear you, I have gotten as angry as you have at times.
In the movie, Friends with Money, Jennifer Anniston makes a point. Why do you have to spend 1000.00 on an evening gown, and purchase dinner for 1000.00 a plate, when you could just use that 2000.00 to donate to the charity itself. Does not make a lot of sense, but that is the way it is done.
Don't think bad of yourself. When we are trying to live a righteous life, I think these questions and sense of anger come up naturally. Do your part, help others in any way you have the capability of doing. Accept the world as it is, my friend. Don't stoop down to their level, but have empathy for the people who seemed really screwed up and dont' have it together. Somewhere in life, they learned to cope in a bad way. No one has taken the time to show them that life can be better for them. As far as rapists, I have absolutely no tolerance whatsoever, when it comes to this. Nor do I have any tolerance of abusing and neglecting children. This is one of the most insane and cruel things someone can do to children. It is totally unacceptable. Our would will not get better till Jesus returns, and takes us home. But, believe me, I know God cries at all the pain and suffering that is endured here on earth. I keep thinking of Sodom and Gomorrah, and how he destroyed those two cities. How much longer will he let this cruelty and injustice go on. It helps me to turn the mind. By this, we are accepting reality as it is. We know we can do little to change the corruptors hearts, but we can make a difference by reaching out to those who are in need of something they feel is lacking in their lives.
Hang on. Be thankful everyday, that you are alive. And, find a way to help others, this may take away some of the anger you feel.
Take care...

Elitist.

The world is based on survival of the fittest. In my opinion, if everyone were that smart, that would only spell the end of our world rather than help it. It would probably lead to a lot more jobless/homeless/hungry people and ironically lead to more fighting than we have now.
