Why is it mostly just white parents who don't spank their children? White children seem to rebel more too?

People can do "studies" in a controlled setting out the yin yang, but when more than 20 persons in real life all at once are noticing the same trend among a group of people, that tends to begin the notion of stereotypes. For me as a black woman, it is appalling to hear a child say things like "Shut up" and "F you, *****" to their mothers with no recourse except a stop it, or time out. I would NEVER, EVER talk that way to any grown person, let alone my mamma, when I was coming up. Little white kids in general seem to have a knack for this type of behavior. Sorry, just a general observation.

BTW, what the hell is a time out supposed to do at that point? Obviously, this child has NO concept of discipline or respect, and needs to be headed for boot camp to try and rectify the issues he has before he gets older. Obviously the parents have failed. Do the kids a favor and put them in a Marine ran boot camp for bad kids. It's they last hope.

Edited to add: All you folks making comments about "gangstas" and gang members and what not, obviously have not been around any. Yes, their behavior in society is thug. However, these individuals who come from a home with a loving parent tend to have exceptional discipline and respect for their families. Tupac was a gangsta. Listen to his music. He sings about his mother in lots of songs. Just because of what they do on the block has NOTHING to do with their behavior in their families. Some of the MOST respectful people towards their mothers I have ever seen were Mexican gangsters and Italian gangsters. Hands down. Life of crime, but you better not diss their mother.

I do not know if white children rebel more, but I think white children tend to be less respectful of their parents than some others. I'm not sure why that is, but proper discipline does foster respect in children.

HOWEVER, that said. The comments about gangs, terrorism and prison stats are rather ignorant also. Gang members are usually not gangbanging to rebel against their parents (but to create a sense of family and safety missing in their lives), terrorists are made of otherwise powerless groups who use terror to give themselves a political voice and power though fear (this is not related to spanking or their relationship with their parents >=I ), and lastly prison stats have way more to do with racial profiling, institutional racism, and socioeconomic disadvantages than an actual representation of who is committing crimes in America so that should not be used as evidence that white parenting is any better (or worse) than any other.

I spank my children if they need it.
I think it is because white liberals try to brainwash people into thinking that spanking a kid is child abuse. It is not. There is a big difference between a simple spanking and abuse. But I do think that people have been told "if you treat a child with violence they will learn violence" and all that stuff which can be true of course, but taken too far its just as bad. Kids that aren't disciplined become rebelous and will do whatever they want. Sometimes young kids need a spanking. It should be used less as they become older and can be talked to and other forms of discipline used like grounding, or whatever.
For the most part I agree with you, that our kids are spoiled, but I think it's ALL modern kids, not just white ones!!!
I see an awlful lot of spoiled hispanic boys even from poor families.

Seems to me some of the most dangerous "kids" on the street today are Black or Mexican, and I attribute this to the way the parents raise them.

I think it's a given that almost all children are innocent humans and are TAUGHT how to hate and or be violent, usually from within the home environment.

This is not to say that non-whites don't have reason to be mad at "whitey" (for the record, I am "white"), there is still a lot of racism in this country, and I totally understand their bias (I understand why Black folks and Mexicans feel hatred towards whites), but HOW we deal with bias is the key.

"White kids" might rebel, but what child doesn't? ALL kids rebel in some fashion, get a grip! :(

Also, for the record, I am TOTALLY against spanking! If you have to hit your child, then either you lack the skills to be a good parent, or your child has real problems that need fixing through counseling, love, and patience. You don't EVER need to hit a child, and I'm not talking about 14 and up, I'm talking about children, from 1-13 or so, your mileage may vary.

Well, this question is a pet peeve of mine...I have seen some pretty lenient parents of other race or have seen some that spank their kids & they are still bad a**. Saw a black kid about 11 the other day getting oput of the car & telling whomever he was with to "shut up" and he kicked the car...oh no....I'd have to beat his butt!! (I am white) I was spanked. My kids are or will be (one is just 7 wks old)not all the time, but if it is bad enuf, they sure will be. I really would like to know where this comes from...maybe we believe in communication more? I wonder what race has the highest crime rate?

wrong on both counts.. mostly liberal lunatics believe that the trauma of being wrong is too hard a thing on a child and using corperal punishment is cruel.. God said,"He that spares the rod , hates his child." and, "REbellion is born in the heart of a child,but; the rod of correction drives if far away.".
The truth about 'rebellion' is it occures more in houses where Jesus is ignored or hated, the children are abused or just left to thier own raising, parents are too 'busy' to teach and raise thier kids right..
THE REAL QUESTION IS WHY ARE YOU SO DOWN ON 'WHITES'? They are actually better on average at raising thier children, statistically, than most other people-- that is why less caucasians go to jail or get murdered or get hooked on dope or booze. They make better money because they are taught better socialization skills, and are more eocouraged by thier parents.

Some,not all, white parents let there children do what they want. There is no consistency in their discipline. The next time your in a store and you hear a child screaming for something 9 times out of ten it's not a minority.

The only reason I think SOME white children rebel because they haven't been properly disciplined from the start. Sometimes you need to spank, sometimes you just need to calmly tell the child what they did wrong and why it's bad.

Seems you're pretty limited in your information but I think I understand the confusion...Our lovely legal system has made it a legal violation to discipline our children in even the simplest way therefore we do seem to have quite the explosion of teens rebelling and becoming our next wave of serial killers, rapists, thieves and con artists because they are shown very little discipline until after it's too late for them to realize the true consequences of their actions....

thats a pretty racist comment. I rarely spank and have very well behaved kids. Every one tells me this so it is not just my opinion. Once you have lived in every culture and have proof come back and as this question again. From what i hear in America the majority of people in gangs are African American. Isn't a gang about rebelion? But then again there are probably as many white people in gangs.
