The Ford Puma is not sold in the U.S.A.(as far as I know), where I am right now. However, I would think that it is safe to say that programming it should work just like the American remotes.

Remove the remote from your keyring. Get in your car, close all the doors and put the key in the ignition. Now, without ever starting the car turn the key to the ON position and then back to the OFF position until the power locks are triggered. Once the locks have been triggered IMMEDIATELY push one of the buttons on the remote. Your remote should be ready to go then.

This method worked for my 1996 Ford Taurus SHO and when searching the Internet it seemed most Ford cars operate this way.

Additionally, if your remote was broke you should be able to buy a similar remote and program it following the procedure I just described here.

I'm in the U.S., selling Fords & although I've never seen a Puma, I'm gonna assume that all Ford keyfob remotes are similar.

If so, you can reprogram your remote yourself, and it only takes a couple of minutes....no tools required....& no service visit needed.

When reprogramming, please make sure you have ALL existing remotes with you ( you have to reprogram them all at the same time )

Your owners manual tells you the sequence for your vehicle.
If you don't have an owners manual, you can download one FREE from: http://www.ford.com

Basically there's a sequence involving turning your key on & off several (8-10) times & clicking the remotes.
It's easy, & I've done it hundreds of times for my customers.

Ford keyfobs sometimes need reprogramed such as when adding an extra fob to system or in your case when battery level goes very low now the bad news usually the only place to have this done is at the dealerships service dept. they will charge about 1.5 to 2 hrs labor as shown by the factory repair time & price guide but it shuold only take a good service tech. 15 to 20 min. to do the job he may run into a problem & need to reprogram a second time but you are still looking at 40 min labor and paying for 2hrs.
