Because "no one knows the day or the hour, not even the Son". We don't know if it will happen tomorrow, next year or 1000 years from now. If it's not going to happen anytime soon, we need to take care of the world that God gave us.

It's MY understanding that we do NOT know when it's coming so we are to treat it as if it's gonna be another 2-5 thousand years. Therefore, yes, we all should be very conscientious of how we respect the environment. I've got plenty of faith that we are fully capable of screwin things up beyond OUR control while restricted to a plane of the blame game. We can blame ourselves or others but the fact remains that common sense does not prevail. It's the insanity of our lifestyles that will cause more misery than we really need. Look at a bag of potato chips for an example. What a terrible waste to discard the peels which would prevent scurvy. Oh well, 'Give a Hoot, Don't Pollute'! +2;-)

Well even if you do believe in the coming of the Rapture, we don't know exactly how soon it's gonna happen. As far as we know it won't happen for another few thousand years. But the threats of an unclean environment are a little more immediate. And what would your grandkids and great grandkids think of your generation if you left them with an atmosphere so poluted that everyone was issued rebreathers by the government just because people like you expected God to take care of everything for you. It might even influence future generations to go Atheist because they'll see their world's current state as a result of Christianity.
Fact is in any religion you're expected to take RESPONSIBILITY for your actions. This means keeping our planet clean for future generations, among other things. And if you refuse to take responsibility, you'll be sentenced to Hell where I personally will make sure your eternity is exceptionally unpleasant.
Ave Satanas!

We do not know when the Rapture will occur, and we are called to be stewards of this Earth, so we have to take care of it until the Rapture occurs. Not taking care of this Earth is disobedience to God, as far as we are concerned. It is not lack of faith for His plan, it is obeying His words.

As conventional with those questions, non-believers take their turns making exciting of the Bible. The term rapture is by no skill stated in scripture. it rather is a term "describing" what we learn in First Corinthians 15:50-fifty two and conventional Thessalonians 4:13-18. those verses needless to say state that those are believers taken out of the international, ie, non-belivers are the only ones left at the back of. all of us comprehend it hasn't handed off on account that many people disappearing all on an identical time would be international extensive information for weeks. And no, falling into outer area does not extremely say it. ("...we can be caught up interior the clouds, to fulfill the Lord interior the air...") ....of direction, unbelievers scoff at God having the flexibility to try this, even nonetheless His creation speaks loudly of His capacity and can. Be waiting. now's the wide-unfold time. now's the day of salvation. Confess to God you're a sinner and have faith Christ and His paintings on the circulate and settle for Him (Jesus) as Lord of your life and Savior. in case you have faith on your heart and confess to God in prayer, he will keep you. He has to. He can not lie.

christians don't belive in God...('those who care about the enviornment dont belive in God')...just what is peering out from this little question and answer session. and what nonsense is this rapture...maybe there is some symbolism that means christians have strayed too far from the real teaching of Christ so He feels like He should grab the next generation before they get corrupted and teach the real truth about how the "end of the world" is just a theory to expose the evils of people.

Why go to college or even pay your bills? God could come at any moment so you might just be wasting your time...
Matter of fact, maybe I should run up thousands of dollars in credit card debt because the world might end before they make me pay it back.
