I had been flirting with a guy for a while. We ask each other questions about our lives, family, life, likes, dislikes. One day he told me that I was very pretty and I could have any guy I wanted. I told him that I just got out of a relationship and she wasn't looking for a man because I wanted to some time before getting involved. Afterward I realized he might have taken it personaly so I called him to tell him that I was very attracted to him. The next day I wrote an email and wished him well on his interview. I also wished him good luck and told him to take care. I really liked him and was telling him the truth. Since then he hasn't called.
Was he was mad or hurt because I made the mistake of leading him on only to tell him I needed sometime to get over my previous relationship? Or did I scare him off by calling him later to admit that he was I was very handsome and I was attracted to him so he would know I was not rejecting him.?

Umm I would say he was put off by you saying you wanted time, and basically respects your wishes. This situation is salvageable, ask him out on a date.

I think what you told him about needing some time is fine. It's very alright to say this. this shows that you're considering a guy seriously before starting a relationship and this is good right?
But I was ever told that it's no good to mention previous relationships to a new guy. dunno if this applies to you...
I think you didnt really scare him off. one possibility is that he just feels too flattered because now he knows tha tyou like him a lot. maybe he's trying to be cool in front of you? you already called him and stuff so you already did what you could do. so now just wait. if your lucky, then he will call you because he really likes you. if your being unlucky, he may never call. it just means that he doesn't like you enough, while you didnt do anything wrong..^^

my guess is he is confused by ur actions, i know i am somewhat. if u wasn't looking for anything why did u flirt with him and get so personal with him.
if u did that with me i would think u was interested and i would have done what he done. he let u in to the personal side of his life and so did u. when he stuck his neck out u cut it off. he is most likely embarassed and feels dumb.
then later u call and give him the impression u r intrested.
yea that poor boy is going wtf.
u need to set with him face to face and explain what ur intentions r. don't give hints that u r not rejecting him. guys r simple flat out tell him how u feel and what was going through ur mind. if he sees u r willing to stick ur neck out then he will see ur serious.

ok well for guys. if a girl is not interested, we just give up (if all we want from that girl is a real bf/gf relationship) and move on because most likely the furthest you can go is being friends. he prob doesnt call back because he doesnt want to be JUST FRIENDS he wants to be more and he knows you're not interested so hes moving on. you better get your man back. he probably still has feelings for you withing the next week.

You been caught by him already!! You should do what you feel best for yourself cause he does need you as well but just that he felt a bit frustrated over you. Please do not tell him about your past relationship cause you will scare him off as well. Word of advice, be yourself and relaxed!! Don't push it hard cause the tension will break and there is no more magic anymore...

sounds like he feels reeled in then slapped down. he is probably thinking.... ok, does she like me or not? if you can say those things to him.... call him and ask him out to a movie or something and let things go from there. no harm no foul.

dont feel hurt of ur and himself. When you clearly said that you are flirting then there is no cause of getting hurt. Its all transparent.

i think that you should just tell him ask him if he felt offended or something i would prefer that than some girl trying to get hints or clues to see if i got upset and thats all i have to say o and viva mexico!!!!!
