J.P.,
If that's what you believe I would categorize you as an Agnostic. You are basically where I was 20 years ago. You cannot know God if He doesn't choose you. He wanted it that way so the He could pick who could and who couldn't come to Him. He decides.
You get your 'proof' if He reveals Himself to you, as He did me. He controls the proof, and we can either respond positively, or not.
Call it intofaith if you want. But how are you going to stand up for an opinion if you don't trust that it's right?

atheists knows there is a god, thas just a cop out to do whatever the h*ll they wanna do, its alright, there have been people denied god all their lives and at 80 years old repent, and be forgiven. so them atheists clamin atheist or whatever will soon repent if not, be prepared to suffer in oblivion.
and another thing, if a person is blind and dont know the word, they cant be punished. if they are ignorant to the word, they dont know any better then the faith doesnt apply to them, but atheist it does apply because deciding to be an atheist is just like deciding to have sex before marriage. because atheist heard the word, they just had the option to reject it and they did, when god lets you go, and truely lets you go, because you rejected him to come into your life then thats when you decide "hey im an atheist"
p.s.
if people like clcalifornia knew the word of god, she wouldnt have never typed that, its sooo easy to say something so critical when you "just dont know" and thats sad. i hope you beg for repentacne. lord have mercy on these individuals.

I am a strong atheist in the following manner:
agnosticism + occam's razor.
Man cannot know the existence or nonexistence of a deity, nor any of a deity's qualities. Man is utterly removed from such knowing. Occam's razor says that the hypothesis requiring the fewest invented agents is usually the correct hypothesis.
So.
Since I can know nothing of the existence or nonexistence of a deity, I look at the universe around me. I can conceive of it requiring a deity to come into existence. I can conceive of it coming into existence absent the existence of a deity. The conception not requiring a deity requires one fewer invented agent.
So, I see no reason to believe in a deity, based on educated philosophy and understanding of fundamental principles.
How is this 'faith'? If you must give it a faith based label, why don't we call it... oh, for lack of better term, let's call it 'antifaith'.
----------------
However, if you want me to limit my inquiry to the Christian God, then there is proof by contradiction.
Suppose that the New Testament God is True.
Also Suppose the nature of the Bible is Literal Truth.
John 14:12-14 reads (NIV):
12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.
14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
This quote is contextually accurate, the text before and after is distinct from it.
Notice that it does not place any limitation on reason for such prayer, notice that it does not place any limitation on what will be done.
I will now say a prayer per that prescription:
"Dear Jesus, though I am not a believer, I approach you with a humble heart, yearning for Truth. Though the Holy Text says it is better to believe without seeing, you gave Thomas the proof that he asked for, and did not condemn him for it. You only praised the others more highly. As you have promised, as the Son of God and as God himself, incapable of evil or unrighteousness, I pray in your most Holy and Sacred name, Jesus, Son of God, prevent me from blaspheming your name, humble my heart, here and now, so that I can never again speak your name in disrespect, but only with the fullness of your love and glory. In your most holy name, Jesus, I pray."
I assert: Jesus gave me a reach around while we 69'ed.
I have just blasphemed.
Therefore, Jesus did not fulfill the promise of John 14:12-14. Therefore, the New Testament is not literally true.
Therefore, the New Testament God is not true.
This is a contradiction. Therefore, the initial statement is in error.

You can't be in denial about your faith if you don't have any to begin with. Silly question.
Faith is not an action. It is a benign theory. If a theory can not be proved, it remains a hypothesis, an idea. An idea does not have a tangible outcome if it is not believed or acted upon, just as a ball will not start rolling if nobody touches it.
You can't have faith in the faithless in the absence of faith. You are propsing that people should place confidence in the unquantifiable, the uncertain, the immeasureable.
I am God. How do you know I'm not God? If you don't send me $5,000 I will send you to Hell. Do you have faith in Me? Why not?
THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE ASKING OF ME.....

As a Christian I would like to say that any viewpoint that an atheist holds concerning his "faith" is entirely his business. To slightly misquote Voltaire - I do not agree with atheist's viewpoints, but I will defend to the death their right to express them. If an atheist blindly assumes God does not exist, why should it worry you? The atheists denial of God's existence is a matter entirely between God and the atheist. People have a free choice as to what they want to do with their lives, but, at the same time, they should also realise that there are inevitable consequences resulting from their choices. Go well, and God Bless!

It's not that there's no scientific proof *against* the existence of a god. It's the fact that there's no proof *for* it. If someone wants to try and convince me that there's a god, the burden of proof lies on their shoulders. They have to come up with a good enough story to convince me, not the other way around.
And, besides, there are plenty of logical arguments, a lot of which are listed in the Wiki article for atheism.

I'm not in denial, I just don't believe there's a god out there from my heart. But you are right, it's quite hard to prove there's no god at all, but some people did a pretty good job at it. You can see it in the link below. Do a thorough study of the contents before you say it's all rhetoric ranting or something like that.

Likewise I could say that you blindly believe in a god that has never been proven to exist.
I am not in denial about my faith. I have never believed in god and have no reason to believe any such thing exists elsewhere than in some people's head.
You are the one in denial, thinking it's impossible to not believe, thinking that deep down everyone believes but is just in denial. How foolish is that?
Just live and let live. Believe in whatever you want and learn to respect the fact that not everyone believes in the same. Deal with it.

What faith?
"You blindly think that there is no God, without scientific proof."
Your definition of atheist isn't correct. An atheist is one who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods. And also, what does that have to do with scientific proof?
"Exactly what I was saying. Heh."
So what's your point? One has to have proof that something doesn't exist in order to not believe in it? Where's your proof that unicorns don't exist?

as a LAW you always have to prove what you CLAIM, for example, if i claim that there's humans live in mars, can I:
- force you to believe what i believe?
- say your faith is so blatant?
- say you blindly think there's no human in mars?!! without scientific proff? and are you really gonna believe me if I say my HEART says that there's human on mars!!??
what I'm trying to say is, you guys doesn't have any scientific proof that there is a GOD, and as an agnostics(some sort of atheist) I always search for god in my whole life... I looked for him/her everywhere, I studied, and discussed scientific claims and....
I myself really hope that there is a god, actually it's my most wish, but what can I do when there's no reason to believe that?
at least I looked for what I wanted to believe and pray for, what about you guys? just accepting defaults? just cause everyone elses says?

Rather preachy isn't it? It is not for you or anyone else to say that we should all have faith simply because you do. It is down to personal choice and free will. I choose to be a Witch, and to revere nature. My faith lies there. Not with some mythical being that supposedly created the world in 6 days. Evolution is far more plausible. To each their own.
