I think open relationships are overrated and usually only tolerated because someone is afraid of losing someone else. If you are with someone and you want to be with someone else...set the other person free. There are too many diseases and other negative possibilities to have "open relationships". If you don't want to be with someone let them know then be a man or woman about it and let them go.

I don't know. I never tried it, unless you mean someone is merely a f*ck-buddy. However, the idea sounds interesting, and according to some scholars, even has a biblical basis. I think I would be cool with it as long as I trusted the women I was with. I don't think I would be bothered by the idea of sharing sex, but I might be bothered about sharing love, unless it was enclosed within a safety zone of friends and lovers I could trust.

Anyways, I think I'm more interested in Robert Heinlein's idea of a line marriage than merely "open" relationships. It's open, but also closed in some ways. It's self perpetuating, whereas a group marriage is temporary. The idea allows for freedom and variety, but also gives structure and support to the relationships. In the end, that idea is probably more about plural relationships and polyamoury than it is open relationships.

I think in some circumstances an open relationship can work but not many. Some marriages become non existant in the sex department but still work in every other department. The couple work well as a team and co-exist well together as a partnership in life but they just dont want to have sex with each other anymore. In these situations, an open relationship can work for example but only if both totally agree with it. If one party doesn't have their heart in it and is only agreeing to suit the other, there will be unhappiness, heartache and a breakdown of the relationship.
Some people can really love one another and agree to sleep with other partners for sexual experiences only and yet they stay devoted to each other in all other aspects.
Either way, it takes a rare couple and a special bond and friendship to really make an open relationship work but it is certainly not impossible for some.

Hmmm sex contract...sounds a lot like prostitution to me. When you contract with someone for sex it is considered prostitution...is prostitution legal where you live? If not you might want to give up the contracted sex. Unless you want the both of you to wind up in jail.

your just a fall back...someone there when life gets to hard for the other...no where to go...you'll do just fine...plus it's a very good way to catch a very nasty STD...leave it alone....why else would you want someone to tag along, if your not that serious about them...to use you....

sorry not into them either, i think if you love someone, or they love you, its only you... if its really love there should be enough respect to keep it specila inbetween two people, if its an open relation ship theres no feelings, just sexual urges
