im not sure as to how much chcolate is in oreos but i have found some info on teh net for you with the web link posted unedrneath. personally i would advise contacting your local vet asap for advice as from what ive read timing can make all teh difference if need be

Chocolate is in fact toxic to dogs. The reason being is that chocolate contains Theobromine (a compound similar to caffeine), which causes irregular heartbeat and cardiac arrest if enough is ingested. No dog should ever be given chocolate. White chocolate contains the least Theombromine and Dark chocolate/Baker's chocolate contains an astounding amount.
If a dog ingests chocolate, immediate induction of vomiting is the best. To do this, put a little vanilla ice cream in a bowl for your dog (for taste!) and mix with hydrogen peroxide (amount depends on the weight of the dog) and a teaspoon of salt. This will induce vomiting. If a dog has consumed the chocolate while you were not home and it has been in his/her system for 1 hour or more, an immediate vet visit is in order. Your veterinarian will give your dog activated charcoal which will absorb the toxicity

The first-aid treatment for chocolate poisoning involves removing it from the body, quickly, before too much time passes and the theobromine has circulated, damaging the gastrointestinal tract in the process. The treatment includes:

inducing vomiting, which removes, and then administering
activated charcoal slurry, which absorbs.
The sooner this is done, the less the effects of the poison. That, in itself, explains the importance of dog owners having an emergency kit in their homes plus the knowledge for quick first-aid treatment

OH BOY! Stay close to the leash and front door tonight! What goes in, must come out!

I think your lab will be okay. This is an adult lab., right? If it is a pup I would be more worried. Labs are big dogs and can absorb a lot of junk food! Just take him for a lot of walks!

Good Luck

The amount of actual chocolate in an oreo is probably so small that I wouldnt be too worried... I would keep an eye on your dog and call the vet on Monday to see what they say.

He should be fine... but I agree with the user that said Peroxide... Our dog got into Rat poison one time... The vet said about a 1/4 cup.... Do it outside! For sure... its an instant reaction... If my lab survived Rat Poison I'm sure yours will survive oreos... but Good Luck anyhow... Hope all comes out well

You don't need to worry about him... All he will get is maybe an upset stomach and the runny poo's... It does take alot of chocolate to hurt a dog that big.. we had one that ate three solid chocolate bunnies at easter and she just got the runs... So he will be just fine...

i know it sounds mean, but i wouldn't worry about it. if you call poison control for animals, its 75 dollars just to talk to someone. besides, ive had dogs eat whole cakes, boxes of girl scout mints and even oreos. if you are really worried about your pup, give him a teaspoon of peroxide. it will induce vomitting. that is what the poison control will tell you also.

HELL NO NEED TO WORRY. WE USE TO HAVE A DOG. WHO LOVED HUMAN FOOD. IF WE LEFT ANYTHING OUT WHEN WE GOT HOME IT WOULD BE GONE.

HE ATE MY DAUGHTERS BAG OF HALLOWEEN CANDY. ALL HE GOT WAS THE RUNS. THERE WAS ALOT OF CHOCOLATE CANDY BARS.

HE DID NOT LIKE THE HOT TAMOLIES THOUGH. HE ALSO GOT INTO A BOX OF CHOCOLATE VALENTINE HEARTS AND ATE THEM ALL AND NEVER GOT SICK.
