I can understand why people would say that.
With one child, it's possible for you to continue to pursue an education, which, in the long run, will definitely make you more independent. With two children, it is nearly impossible.
It sounds as if you are thinking only of the present...

no ur not stupid but i can tell u that i have 2 and i was 22 when i had my first one girl u need to wait because mine r 9 and 10 and i have struggled the last 10 yrs dont do that to urself.even if u have family support or spouse/bf it dont matter it will be hard on u.ur only 18 y rush things ur body is still young give it a rest before u put it through that again.wait till ur first has time to be a baby instead of a big bro/sis let urself adjust to being a mom of one before u try for 2 even if u think ur ready trust me ur not.i had mine 10 in a half months apart i was not ready.

no that does NOT make you stupid. I had my first one at 17. As long as you KNOW you can support these babies and you are a good mother to them then there is NO reason you can NOT have another. KEEP your head up and do what YOU think is right! BEST WISHES!

calling you stupid is not helpful..but as one mother to another ,no matter how old you are ,don't have a baby too soon after your last ,you don't say how old your baby is ,a two year gap is good anything closer is hard for any one its hard on your body and its harder to handle the two baby's, also think about your life ,do you have support ,a good partner are you happy ,its those things that mater ,if your life is not good then it might be better to wait for baby number two.because it is harder as you have more kids.having said that ,I think kids need siblings so since you have one you might as well have two, but the closer they are the more they will fight.

Well Im nineteen with a 5 month old. No way I am trying for another one right now...I want to finish getting my degree first...my next will be after im 21

No it doesnt make you stupid. I had my first son when i was 16 i just had my second one 10 days ago and im 21... I think its good that you want to start your family at an early age...Just make sure you have the childs father in there lives, thats real important.

No that does not make you stupid. If you are happily married and you and your partner are ready for another child and are able to support your children without welfare have as many kids as you want.

If you are taking care of your first one I don't see any reason you shouldn't want another,,,,I had my first child when i was 15
