I have this long, thick, black hair. I washed it when I feels like it needs a wash. But, for a week, I washed it 3 or 4 times. I make sure I have a good scrub and also put on conditioner. The result? Marvellous! :)

I have long, REALLY thick hair and I wash my hair usually 4 times a week. Otherwise I feel that my hair gets greasy.

Every day. Given all the contaminants in the environment (ozone, carbon, car exhaust fumes, dust) and just natural body oils and odors, hair can get dirty (and smelly) fast, since it is the most exposed part of your body. BTW, you can tell when an old lady hasn't washed her hair in a day or two because it starts looking YELLOWish. I feel bad for black women because it is impracticle for them to wash their hair daily, but hang around them and you will definitely notice a distinct odor they have from not washing their hair for days (even weeks). Another note . . . don't forget the conditioner. I love to put my fingers through a woman's long, smooth fresh out of the shower smell mmmmmmm.

my grandma used to wash my hair every other day because when you wash it every day it will dry out all the natural oils in your hair. so i would day every other day or depends on the way it feels i usually wash mine no lie every other day i do shower everyday at least twice but i wash my hair every other day to keep the natural oils in my hair it also depends what you consider a week sun to sun well if you wash it on Sunday the next day would be Tuesday then Thursday then sat that's the way i look at it so that's about 4 -5 times a week

Everyday. My hair gets oily after 24 hours, so I wash them everyday.
