I am having trouble with starting my truck and I have encountered this problem in the past. I played with the keyless entry remote fob untill I got the vehicle started. Any help will be appreciated. Another question that came into play was the recalls that may have not been performed. Could that affect the system in anyway??

Hi, Do you get the Security light lit on the dash when you try to start it? If so, the key has a chip inside it, touches internal contacs in the ignition switch. They might be dirty. Try spraying contac cleaner inside the ignition switch to see if it helps. A 1 ohm variance will cause the light to light. Dave

passlock is system used on this model ,does not have pellet in key. theft preventing components are in ign lock cyl and case it rides in .have it scanned for codes relating to that system.they will be in the bcm.no recalls i know of affecting this.
