I breed my chocolate lab with another male chocolate Lab, three whole times the got stuck together, and two months later she had two pups and the other one died shortly after it's birth
Why? I don't know weather or not if it was too late in her heat, or she is too little too have puppies. She is a year and 5 months old.

She was likely too immature.. Medium and large dogs shouldn't have litters until after their second brithday..the male should be at LEAST 2 years old to be fully fertile..

This happens. She could have feritlity issues, which I doubt. It all depends on how many eggs she ovulated. I have a girl right now that I can pick up at least 2 pups. She is a 2 year old, first litter. I have a girl that came from a litter of 2 pups. Her mother had been bred twice to a stud out of state. The breeder that I got her from paid $1000 stud fee to use this male. She did not convieve either time. She then left her with one of her males to see if she had a litter. She had 2 pups in that litter. This dog was leased out to another breeder, he did a transcervical insemination on the girl and ended up with 7 pups. There is a lot to factor in when breeding dogs. Be happy with what you have. Do not breed her again until you have done the necessary genetic screening on her. OFA's, CERF, ect. If you are not willing to do this, get her spayed. You can not OFA a dog for final certification until they are 2 here in the states.

Um, I think when she is pregnant, you have to take her to the vet for check up and see how the puppies are doing in her. And, is she under a lot of stress during her pregnancy? I think you shouldn't put both the female and male together when she is in heat. You're only hurting her more because she keeps getting pregnant and she has to go through that stage of pregnancy which is very stressful, tiring, and very difficult for her. Taking her to the vet is the best choice to see how her health condition is, etc. Seperate both the choco labs for now and don't let her be pregnant again. She seems to be young still so wait until she is a bit older first.

No matter the breed or time in her heat some dogs have small litters at first and sometimes have more as they litters. Why the one puppy died who knows, but sometimes if the puppy seems to be having problems after birth you need to take them away from mom abd rub them to help them breath. Sometimes it helps.

It was probably all her system could cope with. I wouldn't breed a dog until it was at least 18 months-2 years. In actual fact I wouldn't breed my dog at all. There are far too many puppies being put to sleep daily as there aren't enough homes for them all.

DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE.

Seventeen months is quite young - most breeders recommend leaving it until two years of age for a female dog. On a random tangent, watch your grammar: "another" male Lab? Heh.

First litters can be small so that the mother can handle it. I would have waited until she was 2 to breed her also.

Believe it or not large breed dogs have mostly small litters. It is all their bodies can handle.
