It's okay. You don't really have to go.

I say you should use the old classic come-backs -

"Oh yeah? YOU go to Hell!!"

then there's: "S---- You!" and the alternative to it, "F You"

then there the more polite, "Drop Dead" or you could crude up the "drop dead" by adding, "You, (fill in the blank with the nastiest thing you can come up with)!!!"

Finally, there's the blend of the above: "You go to Hell, you (fill in the blank with the nastiest thing you can come up with)."

With regard to tone, my personal choice would be a cold, calm, voice. Some people prefer the bellowing holler. I suppose that has its place at times.......

If you have missed the opportunity for a come-back you have no options left but to wait and see if you see the person again, at which time you can give them the coldest shoulder they've ever had the discomfort of being frozen by. Ideally, this person will get over any anger they had at you and will need something from you at some point - at which time you remind them of how you aren't quite past the past.

You could just walk away. Of course you could make some sarcastic comment about okay you first or see you there, well not since you'll be there. Or you could say thanks for thinking about my future, that's awfully sweet of you, this is also sarcastic but in a less obvious way. You could also do a search for towns called Hell, ask them what they thought when they went or say something about oh you want me to go to (the state that hell is in). I know there are a few, I just don't know where they are.

As for the confusion. Ppl do and say a lot of stupid unwarranted things. Sometimes it's them having a bad day or being a jerk, sometimes it's warranted, but when it is warranted it's usually not something you're (anyone) confused by. Just forget about it and move on, or write them off completely.

Pretend to have a heart attack (okay just kidding).
What I would do is laugh manically. Then again that's me...
Try to make a joke of it so you'll retain dignity.
"I dunno. At least I'll always have a place to roast my marshmallows."
Or you can try saying, "Wow, I have no idea what you just said! Can you repeat it? What? Louder No, louder than that!!" They'll be driven to shout it and make a jerk of themselves in public. At the very least, don't try to act like it's getting to you. Just raise your eyebrow and a look that says "Um, that sounded pretty dumb" It doesn't sound like you deserved it if you're confused. They sound pretty stupid to me.

Good luck with that.

i refuse to go ,that is all .

just do the same or tell them that it is a sin to send people to hell without written permision from God as only He can do that .and that this aotomatically condems the sender for trying to upstage God ,he gets very anoyed if people do that

My friend told me that not too long ago. I just replied--it was through an email-- that I would maybe finally get a good suntan and meet my friends at the sauna. Plus I told them thanks. He got the message.

My grandfather used to say, "never tell someone to go to hell, unless you can make them."

Huh? Either ignore him/her, or say "the Devil!" a common epithet a few centuries ago that should really throw them for a loop.
