depends
balle--is 'ball'
il is eel and means he
ille is generally eee-yuh, but the yuh is really not heard.
fille--is fee (with a yuh on the end if you are overpronouncing--like for a spelling test)
However, in some common words, it's eel (ville-veel, meaning city, village--veel-awj)

travailler--tra--vy-yeah--here the ai is the eye sound and then a y for the double ll.

A good dictionary will give you pronunciation, otherwise, just listen to French speakers.

It depends on the word. Chantilly is pronounced "Shon-ty-yee" but Villennes sur Seine is pronounced Vill-en sur Sen to distinguish it from Vienne - Vienna.

I find sometimes it's best to ask a French person for guidance on things like this.

I would need to know the letters surrounding it. If it's "ille" as in "famille", it's pronounced "eee". You would not pronounce the "l". I have studied French linguistics and so I can give you rules as far as pronunciation is concerned. If you want a more specific answer, you can email me.

if these are two L's, then it would depend on the letters preceeding it, as other people have suggested, eg:

famille - the -ille part would be pronounced like the english "eel"

travailler - the -ailler part would be pronounced "i-yay"
