I am 88.4kg and probably 10kgs overweight since I am about 6 foot tall. I have a large bulging gut and thick thighs. My weight gain is due to prescription of a certain medication which causes rapid weight gain. I stopped taking this medication for this reason. I have been blasting it in the gym nearly every other day. I work out with a personal trainer and do a combination of cardio and weights. I also avoid fatty foods but still eat well. When I was much thinner I also used to be strict vegetarian but abandoned this diet for personal reasons. When can I expect to see the first results of my training? How long would it take to lose about 10kgs? Thanks.

Avoiding fatty foods alone won't help you unless you watch your "bad" calorie intake. Go see a dietitian and ask for a diet that will enable you to lose weight but have the energy to work out in order to tone up and lose excess weight. Do "crunches" every single morning as you wake up and every single night before you go to sleep. Do push ups in the morning and in the evening (half of the maximum push-up or sit-ups you can do). Try to use the stairs instead of the elevator, do a little more walking, too. Instead of lunch, have a salad with natural fruit juices (not fruit "drinks"). Drink more water during the day. Good luck and very best wishes.

lol. i was a personal trainer for 2.5 yrs. we all eat differently. some are even overweight! they just know a lot about diet and ex. But I eat mostly unprocessed foods. Lots of protein, carbs in the morning and post workout, complex carbs, limited sugar (but I love an ice cream cone every so often), I cook with Olive oil and drink plenty of water. and fruits and veggies almost everyday.... i worked out 4-6 days per week and try to be as active as possible. then i got pregnant (on purpose) and have been soo sick up until this week! If I go for a walk I am happy!! i will get back to working out regularly next week because I am finally starting to feel better.

That's something you should be discussing with your trainer--your routine can be adjusted for faster results if that's what you want.
You can lose about a kg a week. The first week is usually more.
