It's a war on oil... I mean terror.

That's a very involved question. In the first place, they will wonder how such an incompetent man became president. A man who missed eliminating the reason for the war in the first place by not following intelligence advice about the fliers. Then they will wonder why that very same man, due to panic, went to war. A war his father had the sense not to become embroiled in.
The third question they will ask is "having fought Vietnam, why did the president follow the same course of nonaction?" They will wonder what made the president believe there were weapons of mass destruction. And in the face of these questions they will wonder if it was a legal action to try Sadam Hussein in court. They will wonder why no one suggested President Bush should be brought to court and impeached then removed from office. And they will wonder at the arrogance of their forefathers from the "boomer generation". People that just allowed this to happen. Yes, this is a very involved question, and a very important one leading to several other important questions. An even better question might be, "What do our grandparents think of the war?"

The charges were trumped up WMDS and the inspectors were thrown out before the work was completed and were even at that time they were finidng no WMD. The real reason for the attack was a carry over vendetta for GWB SR. and the Dessert Storm fiasco which I still dont understand.

years from now .... assuming we dont get anniahlated by nuclear war .... our grandchildren will see that the powers moving towards the new world order were establishing a military presence in the middle east to head off world dominance by China .... now most of the world has been assimilated into a superstate headed up by the now powerful united nations ... there is a single economic system the world over and the militaries of the world have been merged into a single force that now assumes policing duties ....

The invasion of Iraq will reflect a corrupt administration. An administration that created a war based on faulty information. An administration that should have been focused on catching Usama and securing our borders. No, history will not be kind to this administration.

I think it will largely depend on what they are taught. While growing up I was taught that the revolutionary war was a noble cause and that the men who fought in it were patriots. I know of children that are now being taught that it was outright rebellion and that the men who fought in it were insugents, no better than the terrorists we are fighting in Iraq.

So I suppose it depends on what the children are taught. However it doesn't actually look good for liberals, because they abort a significant portion of their children, thus the conservatives are having and raising more children, and thus passing on their viewpoints. In 30 years time the conservatives have the potential to be a vast majority, and thus the war in Iraq will be looked upon as a noble cause, especially if Bush manages to establish peace in the region.

The people who didn't want to get into the Civil War and WWII asked the same thing. It takes generations to be able to view history with clarity and understanding. We're in the middle of scary times. It's happened many times in the past.

Our grandchildren might still be in Iraq trying to fix the mess their grandparent allowed bush the despot to start.

I expect that most all of Bush said were the justifications and the goals will be shown to be untrue & unachieved.
Just as the peace treaty ending the Ottoman Empire was the Peace to end all Peace, this is the War to Guarantee Continued War. Our grandchildren will still be embroiled over there, & will have their own real & not retrospective opinions.
God help us and them.

By then the truth will be coming out- they will know it was a war for a wealthy mans oil share
BUT
being this is the case, why are the oil companies with their record profits paying the cost of the military action?

It would depend on the out come of this war. And it would depend on your view and what we will teach and tell these children. Nobody knows the real reason for the attack...to many coverups, opinions and lies! It's pretty sad.
