Yah, I have color treated DARK brown hair that's almost black. I need to lighten it. Everyone says that lemon juice and "Sun In" is supposed to work, but I don't want to use that stuff on my hair. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help guys!

Buy a bag of chamomile herbs at any supermarket and boil it in a pot of water as if you were going to make chamomile tea. Strain it so that only the yellow "tea" remains. Just wet your hair daily with the tea. You can leave it in or (if you don't like the fragrance) leave it in for about an hour and wash it off. Your hair will start lightening within a week "naturally". The results are much better than Sun In because it doesn't leave your hair red.

Use Brillant Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner for the lighter shades of brunettes. Or you can try using a clarifying shampoo and hot oil treatments. It will take a few weeks to fade so be patient. Try not to use shampoos for color treated hair.

The lemon juice trick is for blondes. Not brunettes. And Sun-In strips your hair of its natural oils and can do more damage than you want.

Assuming it's still around, L'Oréal Paris Super Blonde Creme Lightening Kit will undoubtedly do the job.

It will work on natural or color-treated hair and you can control the lightening by choosing how long you leave it in.

It works on light blonde to dark blonde, light brown, medium brown, and dark brown to black hair. In your case, and I say this based on the color chart on the package, you'll probably get a slightly reddish-blonde result.

Here's the official lowdown on this product from the package itself:

SUPER conditioning cream formula; SUPER lightening action.

SUPER BLONDE with its super lightening cream formula gives your hair a luminous blonde result.

PURE LUMINOSITY OF BLONDE:
—Advanced super-lightening action enlightens natural or color-treated hair with care
—Takes even dark hair to a pure, translucent, shining result in one simple step - yet it's easy on your hair
—So creamy, this non-drip formula delivers smooth, even blonding root to tip

LUXURY OF CREME CONDITIONING:
—Super-rich cream formula protects and conditions hair as you lighten
—Special Conditioning Shampoo deeply hydrates hair, leaving it soft, manageable and positively luminous.

Super lightening action for short or long hair.

THIS PACKAGE CONTAINS:
Lightening Cream
Developing Cream
Lightening Powder
Conditioning Shampoo
Applicator tip
Instruction brochure
Salon gloves

I remember, back in the day, it sold for about $10. It's worth it because this stuff is simple to use and, most importantly, it works!

If your hair is already dyed, don't use other chemicals on it. You can lighten dark hair with dye. Don't add Sun In or anything else like that.

After shampooing, rinse your hair with vinegar, let it "set" a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water. Apple cider vinegar will bring out auburn highlights, white vinegar for blonde highlights.

|Try dying it golden . If your hair is really dark brown , it won't turn golden , it will turn a bit of a lighter brown . I've done it before (:

if you have blonde hair this will naturally get bleached by the sun in the summer. There was this guy in my class who also had golden blonde hair that has been a medium brown near the bottom. When he came back to school after summer vacation, it was nearly platinum blonde!

Exactly why is everyone with blond, why can't you just have jet black hair with some blonde or blonde hair with some jet black hair. Today you don't have to choose.
