I work full time and go to graduate school full time and find myself eating on the go. I don't have a lot of time to exercise, but I do make time to go for walks to relax and get outside once in a while. As a result, I feel myself not having the same figure I did even a year ago. I'm not overweight, I just don't always feel so good eating bad things all the time, and I feel my clothes tightening a bit. Any tips on how to eat on the go but still eating healthy? Any tips on how to do simple things to exercise too? Like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.

For breakfast, instead of doughnuts or bread/pastry/danish and coffee, try eating an apple. It is very healthy and works better than coffee in waking you up.

For brunch or lunch, add a banana to your normal diet. Again, it is healthy and easy to carry. It should replenish you as the day goes on.

Try eating dinner early. It is better to eat dinner early than late. Your body will appreciate it.

If you can, try drinking anti-oxidant drinks once in a while. Naked Juice is a good one. This will cleanse your body of the bad stuff that junk food brings.

As for keeping the weight off, Yes, do take the stairs. If you take the stairs regularly, you will burn a lot of calories. As you do it more often, you will learn that you have more energy than before.

Also, keep going on those walks. It'll help you gather your thoughts and keep you sane throughout the school year.

GOOD LUCK!

Be careful about what foods you're eating at fast food places. Obviously, a salad is a healthier choice than the extra-extra-large french fries (careful with the dressing, though). If you find yourself eating frequently, try to cut back little by little. You might keep healthy snacks like granola bars that don't go bad in your car, so that you don't always have to go to fast food restaurants.

As for the second part of your question, walking is a good way to exercise. Don't rely on your car, if possible, walk.

Protien bars, Fiber bars, and yogurt. Stock up on them and keep a couple on you so you don't have to go to McDonalds. If you find fast food a must try to order salads, grilled chicken sandwiches and milk or juice as opposed to burgers, fries and pop. Turn your evening stroll into a brisk walk. Park in the spot farthest from the door of work and school or ride a bike to local destinations instead of driving. This will save on gas money as well as overpriced "value meals". You can use the cash saved up after 3 months to treat yourself to a night at a hotel that has a weight room, sauna, hot tub and swimming pool.

Try avoid eating things that fill you up really quickly but have no nutritional value. Like the chips along with that sub are not needed. Get water instead of soda/pop. Leave out the mayo and put olive oil instead. Eat more whole-wheat bread. Go for the vegetarian options. Get a pizza with less cheese, but more veggies. Cook homemade rice and spice it up. Take healthy snacks with you like crackers or carrots. Drink lots of water. Avoid caffiene unless you need it to stay up.

i resently lost 25 pounds by changing my eating choices. i still eat fast food and i am very busy but now instead of getting the # 2 example i would order the kids meal with milk by the time you eat that your not hungry. and the smaller portion is better for you. try it it is fun to see. it all in our minds. once its finished we are full if it was supersized we would be full its all whats in front of us we shall eat. so eat a kids meal and save the calories. on weight watchers. a cheeseburger happy meal is about 11 points. the other meals adult are over 26 so if you are still hungry order a side salad and drink more water.

Fast food is never healthy. Rather, when you do not have the time to cook, bring easy to carry healthy food like bananas, apples and the like. You wont feel any guilt eating this kind of food.

If you are going to eat fast food, try to go to Subway as much as you can. It's by far the healthiest fast food there is out there. I can guarantee you will lose weight just by switching Burger King or McDOnalds for Subway everyday.

Protein shakes made with soy milk of skim milk. you can make them and carry with you in a cup with a top. they fill you if you put a little extra protein powder. aslo, peanut / almond butted sandwiches. protein bars. a great thing that fills me is a baked chicken breast - one fits in a atiny container and I take it to work in my purse. I do not add anything to the meat - just oil and salt and it still is good.
take vitamines.
