If you watched the questions, I was a few minutes ago accused of being a liar for quoting a statistic of over 9,000 Americans being killed every year by illegal immigrants. When I responded with a quote from an article and link, the question was removed. However, it was removed while I was writing this one. Given that I had to go to the trouble to research the source for my information, I'll share it with you:

"Iowa's United States Congressman Steve King told a crowd in Des Moines in June, "Illegal aliens cause the death of 25 American citizens every day...13 by drunken driving and 12 by stabbings or gun fire."

That daily figure adds up to 9,125 deaths annually caused primarily by illegal alien Mexicans residing in America. Mike Rosen, radio talk show host in Denver, said it wasn’t significant when you consider our country of 300 million. A listener corrected him, “It’s not significant unless it’s your father or family member who gets killed.”

More sobering, almost eight times as many deaths of civilian Americans have occurred in our own country in three years than deaths to our soldiers in the Iraq and Afghanistan war zones. It’s safer in a war zone than on our own highways and in our own homes in America. At the same time, South Koreans are safer in their own homes with 37,000 American troops guarding their border from North Korea for the past 40 years--with our troops and tax dollars--than we are in our own country."

The first link above is to a yahoo search which shows other sources for the same information. However, the first time I saw it it was on an AP story.

sly, I mentioned this statistic in response to a question saying they should stay based on the fact that some die trying to get here. Since they take that risk willingly, and this many are killed by those who do make it, I didn't find that to be a persuasive argument. Frankly, that sort of argument makes me gag. I was NOT saying all illegals are killers.

Bottom line, illegal immigration needs to be stopped, period. From Mexico, or anywhere else. Like the man said, we're a nation of immigrants, but we're also a nation of laws.

Driving all by itself is a hazardous practice. You go and attach yourself to a 2,000 pound piece of equipment, fire it up, and head on down the highway...connected to the road by 4 lil' balloons,
on an unpredictable, uneven surface, with OTHER drivers who may/may not recognize or more to the point CARE about those artful roadside decorations we see throughout the 50 states.
Some 50,000 americans are estimated to 'buy it' on our nation's highways annually, but we cheerfully hop in the car each day and sally forth into traffic without pondering the concept that each road trip has the potential to be our last. And, you don't even get a medal or anything for taking your life in your hands, no 'traffic jam of '92' medal etc., but we do it on a daily basis regardless of the risks. And, as more and more people, and more and more CARS are introduced into the mix each year, the risks go up, up, and UP, hence the affinity for Large Shitboxes like SUV's for their crashworthiness. Our traffic laws are barely followed, everyone's in a competition, Sting's words ring true today, 'packed like lemmings into shiny metal boxes, contestants in a suicidal race', but nobody listens to the Police anymore anyway. Anyway, in the middle of this, this administration and their pro-illegal ilk have introduced about 500k-1 million 'newcomers' EACH YEAR, many of which would LOVE to 'hit the road' too, but have NO clue, due to NO driving training, and even sitting sober behind the wheel, are a rolling road hazard. Don't you just LOVE social engineering? LOLOL But, this is what we get for letting 1/2wits and greedy old men stay in office for years, without question or challenge, and it's up to the voters to draw the line that the next batch will be expected to toe else forfeit their coveted and cushy positions to someone more competent.

You're just gathering information from the wrong sources, and you're approaching your battlefronts inadequately equipped.

Keep fighting the good fight, but research your weapon manufacturers because you can't win using plastic laser guns that look like guns but are actually weak red flashlights.
