"In God We Trust" is our Nation's motto.
Bush can say GOD BLESS AMERICA because "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"
The part that reads PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF means there isn't squat they can do about it.
And you ARE allowed to say prayers in schools. They tell you you can't because they don't want to get sued, but it's illegal for the government (including government schools) to prohibit your free exercise of religion, even on school grounds.
It was also illegal to remove the 10 commandments from Judge Roy Moore's courthouse.
Just because people in government break the law, it doesn't mean that what they're doing is the right thing or the legal thing.
It just happens that the criminals are running the country right now. Let's hope and pray a day of accounting is coming soon.

That is a very good question. I believe the reason we are not allowed to say prayers in school because some of the student are not into that, they just not into religion, some people do not believe in God or people think that god and religion should not be in schools. I believe that is stupid because you say the pledge of alligene(Do not know if it is spell right but you understand where I am going with this) and there a part that says "One nation under God" I do not see what the problem is about praying in school if the President says God bless America and the money had for the longest time In God we trust.

The type of prayer that is not allowed in school is when the entire class/school is required to participate (or at least is strongly encouraged to). This kind of atmosphere creates an environment in which children who are not Christian feel obligated to participate. In the case of George Bush (or any other political figure), he is not asking anyone to agree with him (although most do). He is simply stating his beliefs, wishing prosperity on his nation according to his ideology. I am not a Christian myself, but I don't have a problem with Bush's comments. I do, however, think that "In God we trust" should not be on our money, because, as a universal tool in today's society, everyone must use it. Therefore, it purports to speak for everyone, which, of course, it doesn't. Not everyone trusts in God.

Because of a now dead atheist, Madeline Murry O'Hara who didn't want her son (who is now a Christian fundamental preacher) to be subjected to any form of religion in school. Christmas holiday was replaced by winter holiday etc. Such evil people. Madeline is now enjoying the fires of hell and our public school system is enjoying the fruits of removing God from the buildings. When you take God out, Satan moves in and takes over.
The building that houses the US Supreme Court has Moses holding the 10 commandments in a carving on the buildings entrance!!!
And in the house and senate each day starts with a prayer... go figure...

What school are you going to where you are not allowed to pray? ORGANIZED, SCHOOL SPONSERED prayer is not allowed in public schools. If you want to pray that God blesses your pencil before you take the SATs, go for it. Bush is allowed to follow his religion too. Plus, it gets him votes from the religious right.

What? You will get kicked out of school if you say a prayer? I think as long as you are not bothering somebody saying a prayer, I don't see what's wrong with it. And also, you don't need to scream a prayer on the top of your lungs, who the heck is going to know if you say it under your breath?

who says you arent allowed to say prayers in school? you have every right to say a silent prayer.
now if you meant forced prayer, where everyone has to say the prayer, then well, i will have to disagree with you. forced prayer is just that... forced. there's no meaning behind it, and its pointless. there are people who go to school and do not believe in the christian god. it wouldnt be fair to them if they were forced to pray, would it?
as for bush saying what he says... well there are lots of things that i think many people would have wished he didnt say.

This country was founded on CHRISTIAN principles.
People don't know that anymore?
The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution are based on BIBLICAL principles. Over 90% of the signers were CHRISTIANS.
You enjoy the beliefs of a system that are based on the ideas and tenets of the BIBLE.
It is not a theocracy because theocracy doesn;t work.... but the freedoms, the laws and the structure of government are SCRIPTURAL.
Our founding fathers were brilliant, God-fearing men who took their understanding and made the greatest nation ever. We are responsible to uphold these freedoms; but because we have them and can think and speak freely we have lost sight of what they are based on.
In GOD they trusted, and we need GOD to bless our nation.

I think you mean that school faculty is not allowed to say prayers with the students. students can form their own prayer groups. But as to the question, why aren't teachers allowed to say that to the students, but Bush can say it to the nation on national television, just goes to show you the hypocracy of our beloved nation.

Bush has been saying lots of prayers recently, even for Steve Irwin's family, as if the God he knows can make any difference.
The only God George W Bush ever called by name is ALLAH, and Allah is The Only True God and George W Bush is an Infidel.
