the xc90 is a capable off road-er that needs a brush guard[a real one , you best make it yourself] it is not a mudder but will go through more than you would think. but remember this is a luxury car not a truck and maintenance will have to be increased dramatically [nothing seems to break though] and it will go places that those 2 german turds [ml and x5] will never dare try, but be responsible and "tread lightly".

no cos it hasnt got the clearance sorry the only offroading the xc90 is good for is the speed bumps in the supermarket carparks im affraid ( oh and thats if it dont catch fire like the rest of them ask your volvo dealership and they didnt even do a recall cos the cost of the recall was far greater then the compansation they give out so how safe do u feel now ) they no about the prob but wait till u burn and go oh sorry yeah we forgot to tell you bout that before you brought it

It sure can, but define serious... When I think of serious, I have in mind Toyota land cruiser, Mitsubishi pajero, Nissan patrol/terrano, land rover discovery/defender, and so on... After all, xc90 is a SUV...

volvos RULE! i saw a video on streetfire.net where all these volvos ramp snowbanks! and there's also vids where people do sick burnouts w/ their volvos...they're great.
