You have to be a high school graduate or have a g.e.d, and if you only have a g.e.d you have to score at least a 50% on the asvab test, others with a high school degree have to only score a 35%. You have to be 18 years old or you have to be at least 17 with your parents o.k, also you can't be overweight, and you can't have any disability's or any felony convictions on your record.

1) Need to be a U.S. citizen or have an I-551 card.
2) Need to have a High School Diploma or GED.
3) Between the ages of 17 to 41.
4) Be able to pass the ASVAB.
5) Depending on law violations, you may be disqualified.
6) Be in good health. Major medical issues may disqualify you.
The best thing is check out www.goarmy.com. And go see an Army recruiter.

You should join! My husband is a staff sergeant and I have so much respect for the army and military for that matter. They really treat you well and cater to your needs. Here, go to this site. It will help you a lot.

Basically, you need a HS diploma or GED for the Army. For others, like Marine Corps, you can't have a GED, but Army, either will work.

Go see a recruiter. He'll tell you all you need to know. Things that I know will hold you back are the lack of a high school diploma, debilitating health issues, and a criminal record. Like I said though go see a recruiter, but if I were you, I'd go Air Force.

I wish you luck in Joining the Army if that is what you do in life, but I must warn you that getting in is hard and sometimes they reject people for dumb reasons. I know I was rejected and that was hard to understand. Good luck & best wishes to you in all you do in life.
