In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

All angels are called sons of the true God, Satan before his fall was a son of God, now he is his adversary. All of you need to read Job 2:1 More proof that Jesus was an angel in heaven before coming to earth to be born as a perfect human who could pay the ransom for sinful mankind.

Satan was not another son of God. If you look at the Gospel of John in the New Testament, in chapter 3, verse 16, it says "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, and whoever believes in Him will have everlasting life." OK, I'll get off my soapbox, but Jesus was the only Son of God. Satan was the most glorified angel in Heaven, and his pride got in the way, so he fell hard. Hope this helps.

No, he is not. Satan's first name was Lucifer or Angel of Light. He was disrespectful and would not follow the ways of God and therefore was thrown out of heaven and given the name we know him by today. It's really clear in the Bible. There is a theory of satan worshippers which states he is the son of God, but they are wrong. That may be where you read this.

Yes. As are all the angels and the occupants of the earth. Who is their spiritual mother we don't know. We'll just have to wait and see on that one! Satan was thrown out of Heaven with 1/3 of the Heavenly Host because they rebelled against God and His eldest son Jesus Christ. Who had been chosen to come as our Redeemer. Satan wanted to force us to do what was right so there was no need of a redeemer. Jesus of course, had offered freedom of choice! And thus commenced the war in Heaven! And yes to your next question. That makes Jesus Christ our spiritual Brother as also is Satan and all his followers! That's why their so good at convincing us to slip up! They knew us before the world was. They know all of our weaknesses. So that's where they aim their attempts to convince us that we're headed the wrong direction! Such as " there is no God" "it's o.k. it was just a little lie". "Don't worry, Nobodies watching, they'll never know". They are watching and waiting for us to slip up. And when we do, they don't want us to get back up and try again. They want us to fail. They fought against us in the war in Heaven and they fight against us now. Sadly, some believe them.
to refrase the Gospel of John, it says that Jesus Christ is the only BEGOTTEN son of God. The only Flesh and blood Son of God. You can't leave out words and then expect to have the whole truth!

Satan is not the son of God. He was one of God's most important angels in heaven until he wanted to take over, and God banned him from heaven.

Technically we're all children of God. But, yes that does include Lucifer or Satan.

As far as his mom, (god's wife) I think he has one, kind of hard to have children without one. But no-one knows who she is. I did come across a french hymn once to the tune of Dvorak singing about "our divine parents" though, food for thought.

BTW Jesus "is the only begotten son" of GOD. Meaning the only person sent directly by him in the flesh. Not the "only" son.
