Years ago when I played volleyball, I had the same thing happen. You have hit the 'carpal tunnel' area and that can really hurt. I suggest you put an ace bandage on it, so it will stay immobile. Possibly ice it too. Don't use it. You need to hit the ball with the butt of your palm, not the wrist area.

I would be more interested in finding out 'what other activities' you have that would involve your 'wrist'....it could actually be a combination of activities that are affecting your wrist...not just the volleyball...and I'm thinking more along the tune of 'carpel tunnel'...which basically starts with a mild tingling in the ends of the fingers, and progresses into the hand...and arm...often awakening you in the night...
Look at your constant repetative issues...this is the first step to gaining some strength...
Try doing some finger/hand excercises...those little squeezie strength balls are likely a good start...
If you just started this sport...keep it up..you just need to work out the cobwebs and build up your muscles...
see ya on court.

The little bones in your wrist, called carpals could in fact be broken, and wouldn't feel like what you have felt in the past breaking longer bones.
Also, you could have a wrist sprain, and sometimes that is worse that fractures.
Splints.
Ice
Meds
Those are all things you need to do.
But... if it really hurts in a lot of movements and positions please go in and get it looked at and evaluated by a professional.
Wrist injuries can cause a lifetime of problems if not fixed correctly.

Has it been xrayed? It stil might be broken. Even a doctor can't tell if it's broken without an xray. Obviously you hurt it in some way. See a doc. They can tell you what to do. Even if I knew what was wrong, I don't think I could fix it for you by Monday!

You should see a doctor for something like that cause there are a lot of things in your wrist that you can damage not just bones.

Some bones are called "sesamoid" bones. They are very small and exist in the tendons or in or near a joint. These bones are like loose bodies. If they are fractured posture related pain occurs. Sesamoid bones are not counted as their number size and position varies. .

You could have still cracked the bone or hurt a nerve. I'd get it checked out at the Doctor.

You might've sprained it. Try applying pressure with something warm or cold for a day or two. If it doesn't chill out then you might want to see a doctor.
