well, when I went to the ER without any insurance, my bill was nearly 2k - but, that was because they had to pump my stomach, and, as they considered me a risk, transported me by ambulance to the mental health.. place.
In the end, though - if you're feeling those thoughts, the cost shouldn't deter you. Most hospitals will work with you to pay the bill - I'm paying mine off at $25 a month, with no interest. Don't let the fear of the bill stop you from getting the help you need.

I don't have insurance, and I had to pay over 300 dollars for the visit, and all I got was a diagnosis of depression with a list of numbers to call to get treatment. But that was me. This is you. You may need more. There may be something worse going on with you. To hell with the bill. Go anyway. Don't make my mistake. Seek help. It's worth it. I'm a dead man. You still have a chance.

What exactly is the ER going to do for you? Nothing, you will get a turkey sandwich and a room with a gaurd outside until they figure out whether they want to 5150 you (or whatever H&S code they use in your state). You probably dont have any insurance, so you end up gumming up the works, costing those of us with jobs money we dont want to spend. And all because you dont want to take your medication like it was prescribed. Dont you have a friend to call? Cant you find a person on here to talk to until you go to sleep? THe ER will not give you counseling. You dont get med refills, or attention, or a decent meal, or whatever it is you are looking for there. Call your reg Dr. Give the people at the ER a break.

usually u will get 50 dollars co-pay depending on what type of insurance u have, if u are suicidal, they can put u on 72 hour hold which will not allow u to check out of the hospital for possible risk of endangering ur self... u will be under constant watch which will be a little costly if u dont have insurance, but don't use financial reason as the reason for not seeking help if u are suicidal...

Be strong and hang in there. Tomorrow, go to your local community center and ask for help. They should have a program to help you get better. Or call your local suicidal hotline, they should have some resource for you.
I know it's hard when you want to get better but don't have money to pay for Doctor or get treatment. Just look in your local phonebook and under Government section, there should be help free to people who needs it. If you are in the position of worrying on how to make the payment, most likely you will qualify.
I've heard on the radio that if you don't have money and you take yourself to a local public hospital, they have to take you in. It will in all cost the state taxpayers but that's okay if you truly need help. Often the people who needs help most will be the ones who are reluctant to get help. Don't be ashamed, just ask for help and you will get it.
I hate parasites that drain government resources but you are not one of them, you truly need help and by knowing that, you will get better and be a productive person in society. I wish you well, and don’t be ashamed, people who judge you are just bitter. Be strong!

When you get the bill, just pay a few dollars on it everytime it comes. They can do nothing to you. I've done it before.
