I have an important question about grants?

I was talking to a guy who was telling me, that since I go to school, I can get all kinds of grants. I am in college, by the way. He said though about housing grants to live, they would give me money for gas to get to school and several others. Can someone who knows about this kind of stuff please tell me how to get these grants and what I would have to do to sign up. Any websites you know where I can read up on this stuff? and last if you know of any other grants , please let me know.

The most popular federal grant is the Pell Grant and it is currently $4500 a year, if you qualify for the maximum amount. There are also local and state grants and the amounts vary. Grants are based on need and first come-first served. There are also deadlines for all grants so be sure to find out when the forms are due. Different schools and universities have both housing and book vouchers to help cover the expense of school. Contact the financial aid office at your school and schedule an appointment to discuss all of your needs.

Financial aid is like a maze but if you keep going and making the turns, you will get out and hopefully have the money you need to not only go to college but live comfortably. Good luck and I hope you get the help you need so you can concentrate on school and not worry about money for school.

Hey financial aid should have a list of grants available but i would think twice about searching grants through search engines most can be misleading. If all fails contact your high school guidance councilor if you are a college freshman.
