I haven't got much sleep lately (working midnights and going to classes) but today I slept all day and I'm still getting them. I don't smoke and I haven't had alcohol in a long time. Any idea what could be causing them?

ok, i know what you are going through.
It's all emotions and stress. You have so many things going on right now. Working many hours, paying the bills, dealing with the girls voice in your ear about God knows what.
You have to relax and understand heart palputations are a sign of stress. So see what you are going through and take some time to slow things down and take care of the stress.
Regarding the girl in the ear, that will never change, so get used to that!!!!!!!!

It could be anxiety brought on by the stress of working nights. Don't wait till the problem gets away from you. If it is anxiety then I suggest you get on medication at least for the short term until you're settled with the stress. Because anxiety can turn into a life long problem if you don't pay it attention. I would try to get on Paxil CR for a while if I were you. Go to an emergency room and tell them you're having heart palpatations. They will check you out and let you know if they find an immediate problem. Ask the doctor if he thinks it could be anxiety attacks? If he says yes then ask for a prescription of Xanix (which takes 20 minutes to kick in after you take the pill). If that gets rid of the palpatations then you know it's anxiety and then find a psychiatrist who can prescript you the Paxil CR. A more worse case senerio is that you could have angina. So look into this stuff. Take care.

i found that when i stopped drinking caffeine altogether, that helped. I had that problem and i hated it. i would lay down to go to sleep and i would have heart palpitations and i couldnt sleep and would have to get up and walk around for a while, then try to go to sleep again. Just take deep breaths, and try to relax your body. the key is just relax. And try to cut out sugar and caffeine.

You may have air in it or wax. Give it a week and if it is still giving you problems go see an ear nose and throat doctor. Hope it gets better.

Do you drink alot of coffee? You say you work late, drinking too much coffee can do this-chocolate, anything with caffeine. If so cut it out for a week, then switch to decaf.

Lack of sleep, stress, you are not getting enough rest. for your body to refuel it's self. You may need to have your b/p check to make sure it is in normal range.
