it works fine on my stand-alone vcd player but i cant seem to play it in my pc!
the problem seems to be in its extension 'cda'
does anybody know any software that could play my vcd which is in .cda format?

Windows Media Player.

.cda is the encoding format that CDs are burned in.

Try real player it has a greater range of file playback
or you could type this question straight into the search bar this will give program format then have a drink on me

vcd are mpeg1 encoded..
the cdas are

Windows media player/Real Player/Real alternative. Generally, any media program would open it. If you have Nero 6, you can convert it to MP3 or any other format and play it directly on any other media player.

Window Media Player should be able to play it.
If it don't, rt click on the file and choose open with window media player.
