You may want to have the kitty with the bad breath checked out by the vet. Bad breathe can indicate other internal problems in animals such as diabetes and or liver and or kidney problems. Have you checked your kitty's teeth? Sometimes they can have a broken or infected tooth and this can be the problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your fur babies. Have a good night!

I think it's the right time for you to start a brushing-your-cat's teeth regime.. Though both cats ate the same kind of food, they are two different cats with different needs and therefore, these could be the reason why only one of your cat has bad breath.

Some cats' teeth rot easier then others because of plaque buildup. If their mouth smells like death they may need some teeth removed because they are rotting in the mouth making that horrible smell. If you dont get the bad teeth removed the root will grow into the nasal cavity if its on the roof of the mouth or throuth the cats chin. Id get it checked ASAP, you can pretty much tell by looking at the teeth yourself, a rotten tooth is pretty apparent

Is the cat with bad breath older? It could be bad teeth or an infection of the gums

bad breath in dogs and cats is not caused by their food....it's the condition of their teeth. VERY bad breath is indicative of a gum or tooth infection. These can be fatal - they lead to sinus and eventually blood infections. You should take you pet to the vet and have their teeth checked.

Hi,
I went to petsmart the other day and was supprised to see that they do have cat mints. I dont know if you have a petsmart where you live but just look somewhere that carries pet supplies whenever you get the chance. Also try brushing the cat's teeth. Good luck

We all have bad breath, only mask it and fight it off for a short time. Brush the cats teeth, you can also get snacks that are minty for them. Go to the pet store and ask around.

it could be:
1. food not digested well. (smell coming from its gastric) please see a vet if you see your cat behaving restless or eating less than normal. If its poo are normal.
2. Dental problems. (decay tooth)
You need to brush their teeth (pet's toothpaste and brush available at all pet's store) no matter what kind of good dental food you give them. If your cats are not cooperative in letting you brush their teeth, visit the vet for annual cleaning. Vet recommends once a year if you want to maintain the oral health of your pets.

Do you think she has a bad tooth? What about an abcess in the mouth or throat? She could have something like GERD.
