This is a complicated question. Most devout Catholics have tended to believe that any interferance with "God's work" is sin, and therefore, stopping the baby from being formed in the first place is interfering with God's potential work, and also almost as bad as abortion. Specifically, they say that you are "deliberately violating the design God built into the human race" by using any form of contraception. Do I agree with them? Even as a very conservative Christian, not nearly, but that is what they believe.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
3. Married couples should welcome God's gift of children and, therefore, artificial birth control was against the will of God.
Married couples can use natural birth control like the rhythm method and abstinence.
The purpose of sex is to bring a husband and wife closer and to create human life.
With love in Christ.

There were really 15 commandments, too bad Moses dropped that last tablet:
11) Thou shalt not use birth control
12) Thou shalt believe anything the Pope, Your God, Sayeth.
13) Thou shalt offer your male children upon the altar of pediophile priests.
14) Thou shalt take the word of the Catholic Church, the one true church, forward unon the world.
15) Thou shalt not read the Bible for yourselves because it is too complicated for your eyes. Only pediofiles....ummmm priests may understand!
Either learn to think for yourself or follow the rules of your chosen religion....noone can do both.

Catholicism has become way more liberal these days. Almost anything is allowed. We're not restricted in any way...coming from a Catholic. There's nothing at all we can't do. We just go and confess and are forgiven. Anyways, the church understands that contraception is healthy and necessary.

It only depends on what you believe. But if you want to ask the Pope, I don't think there's much room for debate. To him sex is only for the possibility of creating life, therefore chemical means of contraception are not allowable. Because they preclude the possibility of natural pregnancy without manipulation.

it depends on the priest at the local church. we've had priests where i live that say that having too many children is a sin because you can't take good care of them all as per today's standards. we've had others that tell us that the only church- approved contraceptive is the rhythm method.
p.s.-- we had a biology teacher that would say, "what do you call couples who use the rhythm method?--the answer--parents"

Nope. You're going to hell (so am I. Shall I hold a place for you?)
Anything that prevents the sperm from getting to its mark is a sin

catholics care about birth control, but they hold no moral high ground, despite what they would say.

Depends on if you are referring to the Pre Vatican II mentality or not...the Catholic church is still divided on many beliefs on this "split" of the church. There's really no right or wrong answer to this.

When a valid reason exists, a system called "Natural Family Planning" may be employed.
